An email from [email protected] address arrived. The main text of it said:

"You have an invite from PayPal USDT. You have successfully authorized a payment of $896.98 USD. If this transaction was not initiated by you, please Contact PayPal at +1 (?8?8?8?)? 4?6?2?–?1?4?0?4? immediately to stop the payment. We are committed to protecting you from fraud."

I did not call the number or click on anything in the email. I logged into my PayPal account in a separate tab and sent the full contents of the email to Support, who confirmed that it was a scam.
