I wanted to apply for passport renewal for my 9 year old son. This website showed up in search results, where it allowed me to enter mine and my husband’s full name, phone numbers, email addresses, my son’s SSN and full name, address details. And luckily our payment transaction via credit card failed. Hence I grew skeptical of the website and looked up online to find that "https://passport.uspassportandvisa.org/“ is a fake and scam. i called my bank to cancel transactions. But our family’s PII is exposed. Please assist in this matter

When I googled Visa renewal, this website came up and looked like an official government website. I ended up putting all my information in thinking that I was applying for a renewal for $60. Ended up finding out I need to repay for my passport after mailing this all in.

I ended up putting in all my information and my social security number. No idea how this was the top search on Google rather than the actual government website.

Scary thing is I'm a semi intelligent 37-year-old man and this still tricked me.

I attempted to apply for a passport for my newborn on this site. I entered information, including date of birth and Social Security number for a newborn and my credit card information. it does not appear that my credit card has been charged thus far.

I wanted to fill out my passport application and this website was the first one that was in the google searches, so I thought it was a legitimate website. I thought the fee I was paying was the passport application fee, but it was actually a fee they charge to fill out the application for you. The business is misleading in what it does. They charge to generate information for an application that is free to fill out

Asks for all of the basic information required for a passport. All it does is send you a digitally filled-out form that you could just print for free online. It makes it sound like they take care of everything for you to get a passport but it just fills out a very simple form that you could do yourself. Unsure on what it does with personal information (addresses, SSN, everything on a passport).

Didn’t realize this was a scam until SSN, names, maiden name, and credit card entered and submitted. Use the .gov site

applying for new passport- cost 60$ and was just a filled out form, I am afraid I used personal information that can be used to steal my identity.

I googled a website to renew my passport application and this was the first option on google. When I clicked, I added all. my information including my social security number. I did not realize it was a scam until my payment was blocked by my credit card company.

Website is a passport scam. Searched for passport renewal was the first option in the search engine. Was an https and used .org so I thought it was legit ands was totally wrong. It's my fault for not looking into it with more detail. They now have ALL my information but luckily my credit card company declined the purchase and notified me of fraud. https://passport.uspassportandvisa.org/passport-v3

Looks like a passport renewal site. I did not submit my form because I figured out that it was fake when it asked for info about my parents birthdates etc. which I don’t think one has to do with a real passport renewal. I deleted the info I had filled out, but I’m concerned that the website is designed to record my personal info even if I have not submitted. This website needs to be taken down.

I was looking online to renew my US passport. The first options that came up were passport.uspassportandvisa.org. The site seemed legitimate. I entered my info, passport info, and then it required payment. I entered my card info and it wouldn't process. I thought it must be an issue with my card as it wouldn't go through so I tried another card. This time, I received a text from my card that stated card declined as card was not present at SIMPLE-SIGN-FILE.COM. Please take this website down. After this happened, I googled the site and it says online that this is a scam. I wish I would have done more research before entering all my info.

The scammer create a website that appears as if it is of US government. They charge a fee, making it seem as if we are purchasing our passports from the US Government. Once oyu go to the actual US Government building to complete the process you are told you can not purchase passports online and then get charged for the actual real transaction.

- Jersey City, NJ, USA • Jul 29, 2025

The website appears as the first link when searching for "US passport renewal." This website needs to be taken down. I accidentally provided sensitive information and then realized it was a scam at the end because I didn't feel right. I found the correct government website and avoided providing credit card information. Please take this website down.

Attempting to renew my passport, I googled "renew passport" and the scammer site was he first to come up in the results. It appeared legitimate, I entered personal information, paid the fee, which I thought was the renewal fee, and it generated a completed form DS-82 and instructions to mail it to the proper processing center. The site was intended to seem like the official State Dept site for passport renewal.

- Verona, WI, USA • Jun 25, 2025

The website is one of the first that pops up when you look up passport applications. If you're like me and wanting to "rip off the bandaid", it is easy to miss that it is not a .gov domain. The URL looks legitimate enough at first glance, and the website is fairly simple but still well made. It does ask for your full name, SSN, contact information, your parents' full names, and your credit card information. While nothing has happened to my data yet, I am very concerned. All you get for all this is a filled out form of your data, and the money you spend does not even go towards the passport application cost. This website needs to be taken down.

- Vail, AZ, USA • Jun 23, 2025

Did a google search to renew passport online and this was the first.site that popped up, seemed legit since ended in .org. Took all personal info to include SSN and charged a processing fee to print a form that is free on the actual .gov site
