German Shepherd scam

From the get-go Stephen was pleasant and quick to respond. He sent all info of the dogs and sent pictures and even videos. After asking he sent me pictures of her "parents" as well. He even asks you questions to make sure the dog is "a good fit for your home" and that there are other buyers "interested" so they want to choose the best one.

He was quick to let me know they chose me after just a few minutes of sending my response (red flag one) and let me know the process of having the dog shipped to me via an "agent". It was $1000 for the dog and $290 to ship (red flag two). I would recieve proof of purchase after paying. I wasn't sure what the rest of the process looked like because I quickly googled scams involving New Dawn german shepherds and a few popped up. People claim he was trying to get them to pay via venmo and then gift cards. After reverse Google image searching pictures of the dog he sent me, it was easy to find the dog "Kia" on several other breeding sites as well as a link to a fb account with a picture of the dog dated back to January 2021.

I was looking for a German shepherd puppy. When I wanted to pay through Venmo, he said I needed to make it unsecured because it would take 21 days for the money to go through rather than keep it secured. I tried to Venmo the money. Unfortunately it was denied. At the time he said I could go to Walmart or dollar store and get two $500 Visa cards and a $285 visa card. He said to take photos of the front and back of the cards as well as a photo of the receipt. at that point, I stopped talking to him. I just saw the same dog on another website, all the same dogs on another website with a different person’s picture saying they owned the dogs and a different story.
