Moro.com Reports & Reviews (1)

On 7/1/22 I bought a mirror for $1568.70 from what appeared to be a legit furniture company and website called Moro.com. I even received a promo code thru email and used that for the purchase. I then wrote them an email asking when it would be shipped on 7/13/22. I called the company and spoke to a man named Jose. He told me that the mirror would take up to 3 to 4 months to be manufactured and shipped to my address from Italy. He gave me his email to set up white glove delivery and he would add that to my order. I emailed [email protected] on 8/9/22 asking for white glove delivery and to see if they could delivery on weekends. I then called the company again and talked to a female to ask if they could deliver on the weekend and she told me that they could. Thru the next few months, I would receive many promotional emails from Moro.com also alluding to the fact that it was a legit furniture company.

On 12/2/22, I received an email from [email protected] with [email protected] CCed on the email stating this:

“Hello,

I know you have been waiting on your order for quite some time and our communication around this has been lacking to say the least.

I wanted to provide some sort of clarity around what has been going on. We have processed the orders, paid for production and import, but we have not been able to get these across customs because of issues with our provider. We have had to replace these orders to get them produced and shipped again. This will extend the lead time into the new year and about late Feb.

If you are ok with this please let men know ASAP so we can get this finalized. If not, please also let me know so we can begin the cancellation process and getting your money back. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions. Thank you!

Best,

Jose Coreas       ?Operations Manager ??

??t. 877-659-3442?e. [email protected] ?w. moro.com??(Formerly WeLivv) “?

I then responded to the email on the same day with this:

“Hi Jose,

Thank you I was about to call.  I understand it can takes months to cross customs.  February is no problem for me.  I can wait.  This mirror is worth the wait!”

I then wrote a second email on that same day asking again for white glove delivery and to make sure I had it because I hadn’t been charged for it yet. That email stated this:

“I did call about adding white glove delivery.  Not sure if I did, I was never billed for it.  Can I add that?”

That same day I then received a second email from Jose which stated this:

“Hello,

Yes. If you are willing to wait until Feb/March for delivery then we can include the white glove delivery free of charge. Thank you for letting me know. Please confirm when you can. Thank you!

Best,

Jose Coreas       ?Operations Manager ??

I then responded to Jose thru email on that same day 12/2/22 and said this:

“Sure no problem.  I can wait til then.”

February and March came around and I hadn’t heard from the company. I waited 2 more months assuming it would take a while to cross customs. I called the company and left a message, with no response.

On 5/23/23, I emailed Jose, Anel and all the emails that I could find on their website asking “Any word on this mirror order?”. I then received many emails saying “Delivery Status Notification, emails not found” for the email addresses [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]. This made me very nervous as I called the company again the number 877-659-3442 had now been disconnected. There website also looked abandoned as the website still exists but none of the photos are now loading.

I then did some research to see if I could find anything about this company and I found reviews online where people stated that Jose Coreas scammed them for many thousands of dollars as they paid for furniture and never received it. These reviews were found on websites trustpilot.com, reviewsbird.com, and bbb.org.

This was a very elaborate plan to scam customers, especially with the promotional emails that I would frequently receive.

I will include all emails in order, the website, and all reviews on Moro.com and Jose Coreas that I can find. Please note that some of the images on their emails and all images on their website are no longer loading. I will mark the important pages including the emails I received from Jose in this packet since there are many pages. Thank you.
