If you are job hunting (I've used Zip Recruiter and Linkedin) you might get a text message claiming to be a recruiter from a real major company. It will promise a high pay rate ($**/hr for training and $**/hr for full hire) before even asking what you applied for. You are then directed to a Instant Messaging app like Skype or Telegram and asked to do an interview with their HR Director. After a seemingly legit interview, this one for Mondelez froze when I asked to verify my identity in person since their Global HQ is in downtown Chicago. I have received no further communication since asking that question. Furthermore, the job they were interviewing for wasn't listed on Mondelez's careers page.
