They show a cute little ad in social media, invite you to take a "free" style quiz (which is not free; I ended up paying 1 USD), and then tell you to install their app. To do so, you have to give them some kind of payment information, but they promise they won't charge you until you agree to all the terms. Many pop-ups begin while you try to install the app or open their website. One of those pop-ups does not disappear until you accept another charge for a "new service." That new service is lies. It is just a bunch of "Free" downloadable .pdfs that tell you nothing you do not already know.

The "Stylist" service you pay for is a chatbot. You schedule an appointment with your stylist and it is literally a chatbot like you would use on a bank website to direct you to hear a recording of your bank balance. That is the level of "customized service" you receive. You get no reminders of your next payment. Thank goodness PayPal tells me every time I get a new charge. (Not that PayPal did anything about it, but at least they told me it had happened.) So, I go to Lumi's customer service to request a refund. No refunds allowed. So much for their Money Back Guarantee. This is a quote from the email I received from them:

"Regarding your refund request, I completely understand how you feel. However, our money-back policy has guidelines, which, unfortunately, don’t cover personal or financial reasons:

Personal reasons (you don’t like the product, it did not meet your expectations, etc.);

Financial reasons (you did not expect that you will be charged, that the trial will be converted into a subscription, that the subscription will automatically renew, or that the services are paid, etc)."

This, honestly, should have been my first warning sign: "Listed on your bank statement as: n/a"

So. They are gross. Their company is gross. And their stylists are chatbots that send you all over the internet to buy the pieces they recommend for you.

I was interested in a service for clothing styles , but when I went into the app, I was unsatisfied with the quality of options and the way they wanted to do their styling service… I immediately requested to cancel and refund my subscription within 24 hours

Per their policy and it has not been honored.

I have repeatedly asked for my refund and have not received any service or product from this company.

This company is using false advertising to market their products. They offer a personal clothing styling session for a subscription fee, which leads the user to believe that clothing will be included in the subscription. Once you purchase the subscription, the styling session is with a bot, not a person. The subscription does not include the purchase of clothing, it allows you to choose a minimum amount of clothing you would like to spend up to $200, however, when you get into the styling session, it changes the minimum to $400. This is a scam. It has been reported to Apple, who is allowing the app to continue. I reached out to my bank and got my money back I just want to make sure this company gets shut down and investigated for false advertising.

Lumi Ageless is advertising on Facebook - I signed up with my wife to do the free trial and see the suggestions and results - then I immediatly cancelled because I was not interested (nor was she) in a monthly clothing service for $59.99 per month. I contacted the Company multiple times, and then did some detailed research on the Company. I found that the Company was registered in Cypress along with the Director - who currently is the registered Director for over 300 companies in Cypress. I have reported the scam to EEU agencies, US agencies, and to Facebook. With at least 20 emails and 10 phone calls to the Company, I have only received machine generated "we will respond soon" emails. This is clearly a shell for a billing scam.

I became suspicious so did not lose as much as I could have and others did. StyleMeNow portends to be a service like StitchFix but cheaper. It finds you on social media (eg Facebook) and offers a $0.99 trial. If you click, it whisks you to Lumi, and charges you $0.99 alleging that there are multiple services you can try for a few days. Some people get ensnared in the "few days" deadlines. I didnt but I did get taken by "add ons" that were unexpected. One in particular was offered as a comprehensive consultation for $19.99. I bit. No sooner did I buy than my portal was updated to offer the same consultation session for $5.99. Despite numerous emails to their customer service to discover the difference or if I am due a refund, nobody at Lumi has replied. I went to the consultation (which did not include any of the benefits touted) and the stylist told me there was no $19.99 version of the session, only a $5.99 version which is what I was getting.

I thought I was creating a profile to get a stylist. I had to pay .99. Then I get emails that my subscription is going to be renewed. At this point I haven’t even created an account.

All of the links on the multiple emails that say “cancel subscription” don’t work.

- Sacramento, CA, USA

Filled out a fashion quiz. Never received results because it asked for a CC. Check PayPal and found 2 $39.99 AUTOMATIC charges to my CC.

Request a refund and emailed “Merchant”

Lumi.Place advertised for a fashion style quiz. The subscription asks for $.99 to try the service for 3 days with the understanding that you can cancel before the 3 day trial period is up; however, the cancellation page never comes up on their website. So, people are eventually charged $39.99 to$49.99 for a year subscription because they never got to cancel their subscription.

- Tacoma, WA, USA

Online was told I would be charged 99 cents for a profile on how to dress for my body type. It was completely unclear that this was a trial offer, which would expire in 3 days and if I didn't cancel before then I would automatically be charge $49.95. I made several attempts to get a refund but am being told that it is non-refundable. I never did get any profile - just directed to an app which then told me I had to schedule an appointment with a stylist to get the information (which I did not want to do).
