Contacted Avery about purchasing 2 one year old umbrella cockatoos. The guys name is Richard called (908)926-2053.Richard had me send $250 for half the deposit to a Steven Washington on chime! ($Steven-Washington-80) sent the $250 half of a deposit of $500 on 6/18/2024. other $250 was sent 6/26/2024 it was for two umbrella cockatoos name Leo and Abbie which they sent one receipt on first payment and we never got the second. On /6/28/2024 we were getting ready to leave for New Jersey to pick up our birds and pay the remainder $1500. The total for the birds was supposed to be $2000 altogether! I received a phone call right before we were leaving informing us that we needed to pay the entire $2000 Right then, and there paying the remainder $1500 on arrival the very next day or they were going to sell them to someone else. This was after he told me to pay $500 down for two weeks and I would be just fine bringing the remainder $1500 when I got there! For two weeks, I spoke to this Gentlemen on the phone via text message and phone calls and I have every single message from him him telling me all about my new birds and what to do with them as far as feeding cages so on so forth. We told him we would not pay the remaining 1500 until we got there the next day as agreement that we had made for two weeks. He basically told us he would refund us the money because he was going to go ahead and take the family that was standing. There is cash on hand. At this point, my husband and I knew we had been scammed! We have never received the payment, which was supposed to be returned back on time within 24 hours and now no one is answering or responding to that number. So in total, we lost $500 for the deposits for the birds.
