I applied for a loan through the Lending Point website, as I am already a customer with them. I received a voice message from saying their name was Marc Williams and returned the call. We spoke about the amount in which I applied due to my credit score being low and Marc Williams said that the agency does not go off the credit score, they go off the person's word that need the financial assistance. He then sent me the site: lendingpointofficial.com-which asked for my log information to my bank- and it did not occur to me that anything was wrong since the site looked/seemed legit. The person stated not to log into the account because the FDIC was monitoring it for fraudulent activity and that as an act of good faith, they will deposit a certain amount into the account and then I pay it back to ensure that I was willing to pay the loan back. The person was disputing transactions that my husband and I had made- they disputed our ATM with drawls- Amount total: 560, our OCT Rent payment; amount total: 1447.00 and 2 of our Car loan payments-1506.00 ( Car payments are 756.00). USAA caught the person or persons who tried to deposit a fake check into my account and froze the account. I immediately called USAA on Friday, the 29th NOV and spoke with a representative and reviewed the activity that had take place and immediately changed my login information and blocked the scammer afterwards.
