Type of a scam Employment

They told me I was in the final stages of the interview and needed to send my resume. Then I was told I did not win the position but they were expanding to have a second position available in Mach and until then I would have to be the CEO's virtual assistant; I had to resubmit my resume and answer interview questions. Shortly after I was told that I got the job and my first task would be to deposit a check that contained both my $700 weekly salary as well as $3000 for office equipment. However, I would have to purchase from a distributor going through an audit process and to not disturb this process I have to purchase from them through Bitcoin. This meant I would have to deposit the 3k into my account and turn it into crypto myself. All of this was through email correspondence, not once did I receive a call or text from "John Robson" or his accountant. I called his number and it is linked to a Google Voice Assistant.
