I received a call from a local number and the gentleman asked for me by full name. He said he was calling from the document processing department regarding a matter and he then provided me a file# and phone number 855.907.0125. I called the number and spoke to a gentleman and provided the file#. The gentleman asked me to provide my full name. Once verified, he stated that this was an attempt to collect a debt on behalf of Consumer Bank in the amount of $4000. I told him I didn't have any business with this bank. He stated yes I did and gave my entire social security number. He said that it had already been verified and that the original creditor was Spiegel but the account was now with Consumer Bank but he could settle with me for $1600. I asked him how could I speak with the creditor or someone to get more details. He told me if I didnt want to settle with him I would be hearing from the courts once they file a judgement. I honestly think I was speaking with the same gentleman from the incoming call I received and when I called the 855#.
