Called by one number and told by a machine that I owed the IRS money and had a warrant out for my arrest. I called the number and asked for any identifying information they could give me to prove they were legitimate. He fumbled through an address I had 10 years ago and asked for $1,200 in unpaid taxes. At this point I hung up. No information given

Beware of automated calling system stating they are from a courthouse and you need to call them back. The incoming phone number is 352-600-3502 and the location says Weeki Wachee, FL.

They automated calling system called me 3 times and left me 2 automated messages. I called them back and the guy with a heavy accent said he was calling from the IRS and that I owed money immediately. I stated that I now this is a fraud call trying to scam people out of money...guy quickly hung up the phone.

Today I received multiple calls from 315-20-4978 telling me that I had defrauded the government on my taxes from 2012-2016 which I didn't even start filling taxes until 2015. Regardless they tried to tell me that I had to drive to a rite-aid or Walgreens and get an electronic voucher to pay back 4000 dollars and that if I didn't I was going to be arrested. Just thought I should let someone know

- El Cajon, CA, USA

Ever since I received a lump sum of money I have be getting these calls for various numbers, with the same voices. One man heavy accent, and a woman claiming to be the IRS. The numbers the call from show up in my caller Id as a likely scam. I have had no problems with the IRS ever and I don't think I would have gotten a tax return if I owed money.

We had 2 phone messages stating: An arrest warrant has been issued under your name by the IRS, so if you want to resolve your case give us a call back.

We did not call back, so do not know what they would have required to resolve it.

I asked the person on the phone what this was about. The person asked personal information which I declined to provide. The person asked my if I knew who he was and I said No! Who are you and what is my case file #. Again he screamed "Do you know who I am?" Again I said "no." He said, " Who am I ? Who AM I?" and I replied," you sound like some Indian fellow who is try to scam me!" He screamed ," I am Pakistani and don't ever call this number again!"

- Bullhead City, AZ, USA

BBB received a call from a consumer reporting they had a v-mail from the "IRS" telling them they owed money and to call ASAP. They did not return the call.

- Edinburg, TX, USA

Received a call this morning with a recording of a man claiming to be from the IRS.

When I called back the same man that was on the message answered with a thick Indian accent claiming to be an Officer Frank Johnson badge #13849

He continued on to inform me that I had a warrant for my arrest and charges of tax fraud. That I owed 2170.00 for fraudulent returns filled for years 2011-2016. He asked me if I did my own taxes or took them to a CPA. I told him a CPA to which he asked the name. I gave him a false name. He then proceeded to ask me if I had ever been arrested on a local level. That is when I told him to contact my attorney

.And I hung up.

I filed a police report with Edinburg Police Dept.Later on I got a call from the same number as before same man's voice same recording only this time the mans name was Officer Brandson. I called EPD again added this information to the report. Next I used another phone to call the number back the same man answer this time stating Office Staph. I asked for Officer Johnson or Brandson and he hung up.

I used yet another phone to call him back. Same man answer as Officer Staph. I quickly identified myself and informed him of the harassment report I had filed on him. He then thanked me and hung up.

Really sad to think that people fall for this everyday.
