The message was I needed to call 281-947-9009 Immediately
to get details of my case file. I did not return call. I do not believe I have any
issues with IRS. Surely it is a scam. Not sure if ScamPulse.com tracks these complaints.
I do know that even though I am on a do not call list, I keep getting more and more
phone calls from unidentifiable numbers.
Thank You,

It is asking for my father’s death certificate for the year 2015.
My father died in 2016. I was concerned that someone was filing a false tax return in my parent’s name.
It has my father’s ss#, full name, my mother’s full name, and my brother’s address (the mail is being forwarded to him because both parents have died)
I called the phone number listed for questions, realizing that it had too many digits 1-800-267-466-1040.
It was an automated machine that said “press 1 if you are over 50 or press 2 if you are under 50”
I pressed 1 and it said I was eligible for a free medic alert system and wanted me to press more numbers.
I hung up and called back. This time I pressed 2, thinking it would connect me to the IRS.
After pressing 2, it said that I was eligible for a free roadside assistance package and wanted me to press more numbers.
My concerns are that it is a scam to try to get older people to give information on themselves to get something free. In addition, If my mother was still alive, she was instructed to send a copy of the death certificate in order to get her refund.
Also, they had complete social security numbers and info, so I am concerned about identity theft.
As far as we know, the scammer has not gotten any money. They may have requested a credit card if I stayed on the line long enough, but I hung up.
Thank you for you help in this matter.
