Called to say that the police were going to arrest me, claimed to be from the IRS. Gave the name "Tom Anderson" with a badge ID of IRM6497. Obviously fake.

- Maumee, OH, USA

I received a voice mail message from IRS on July 2, 2018

The message was I needed to call 281-947-9009 Immediately

to get details of my case file. I did not return call. I do not believe I have any

issues with IRS. Surely it is a scam. Not sure if ScamPulse.com tracks these complaints.

I do know that even though I am on a do not call list, I keep getting more and more

phone calls from unidentifiable numbers.

Thank You,

- Amarillo, TX, USA

I have received several calls that go to my answering machine that claim to be from the IRS, or the Sheriff's department wanting to arrest me. They say I have to pay money or I will be arrested. The dialect they use does not sound like an American English, it's foreign.

I am a Sr. Citizen. I called the ScamPulse.com and they said it was a scam.

914-218-6422 both phone numbers called with recordings that states IRS will send the police to arrest you within 48 hours if you don't call back

They said there were 4 different warrants out on me and never gave my name or information about me. This is a work phone number for the Catholic Care Center and they called over 10 times within 5 hours. I listened to it twice. It was definitely a recording of a women's voice, but sounded like a robot.

I got a call yesterday around 3:20 p.m. saying they were the IRS Investigations Department and that either I or my attorney needed to call them. I don't owe the IRS any money so I knew it was a scam.

Scammer trying to say I owed back taxes and there's a warrant out for my arrest.

I received a call from phone number 646–3 68–5573, New York New York. They said on a voicemail that they were part of the IRS and that I owed money and I would be having consequences if I didn’t call them within 24 hours. I know IRS does not call you for collections like this. Please look into this if possible. Thank you

- Houston, TX, USA

The caller identified herself as an IRS employee working in their Litigation Dept. She notified me that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me to collect back taxes. Since the IRS NEVER calls a citizen on the telephone for any reason, especially for collection or filing a lawsuit, I hung up the phone.

I believe the letter my family rec’d in the mail from the IRS is a fraud.

It is asking for my father’s death certificate for the year 2015.

My father died in 2016. I was concerned that someone was filing a false tax return in my parent’s name.

It has my father’s ss#, full name, my mother’s full name, and my brother’s address (the mail is being forwarded to him because both parents have died)

I called the phone number listed for questions, realizing that it had too many digits 1-800-267-466-1040.

It was an automated machine that said “press 1 if you are over 50 or press 2 if you are under 50”

I pressed 1 and it said I was eligible for a free medic alert system and wanted me to press more numbers.

I hung up and called back. This time I pressed 2, thinking it would connect me to the IRS.

After pressing 2, it said that I was eligible for a free roadside assistance package and wanted me to press more numbers.

My concerns are that it is a scam to try to get older people to give information on themselves to get something free. In addition, If my mother was still alive, she was instructed to send a copy of the death certificate in order to get her refund.

Also, they had complete social security numbers and info, so I am concerned about identity theft.

As far as we know, the scammer has not gotten any money. They may have requested a credit card if I stayed on the line long enough, but I hung up.

Thank you for you help in this matter.

Received an automated call at 10:30 a.m. (very broken in sound) claiming that the IRS had a warrant out for my arrest and that I should call the number given immediately. Did a reverse lookup to find the call originated from a land line in Chicago. Did not return this call.

They call using a pre-recorded voice saying I need to call them back. They are claiming to be an officer with the IRS, that their are 4 serious Allegations against me, they will be sending an officer to Arrest me if I do not call them back. They just started calling my cell phone as well. They are verysneaky, I have life lock in place, but I worry, someone may fall for it. They need to be stopped. I have a heart condition, and don't appreciate the harrassment.

I received a call from someone claiming to be the IRS saying to contact them immediately. It was hard to understand the message but I called the number that they left back from a different phone. When i called back a guy with a heavy accent answered as the IRS.
