They called to say the IRS is filling a lawsuit against me. The best part is I have a private cpa and my wife actually works for one of the worlds largest tax firms

I received a voicemail approximately one week ago from a gentleman claiming to be the IRS. The voicemail stated I had a lawsuit filed against me and that I would be arrested. I have received other similar calls with this same information. I called the number back and spoke to someone who gave me a batch no. I stated I was ondisability and the gentleman I was talking to told me to find out who was using my name. The second time I called the number the line was disconnected.

Saw a missed call from the phone number listed above. Called it back before I saw a voicemail was left (voicemail was a robo call that only left the number to call back). When I talked to a person, they answered saying that they were the IRS. I said that someone had just called and he asked what it was about. I said that I didn't know because I saw the missed call and didn't see a voicemail. They asked for my name and decided to hang up. Caller had an accent. Knew that the area code was completely wrong for the IRS.

A man called saying he was from the IRS and that I owed back taxes He said there are 4 warrants out for my arrest. He told me they would get in contact with the police department. He wanted my address. He said I owed over $140 dollars and then said the total amount owed was $500. He asked if I wanted to take care of it now, or if I wanted to get arrested. I told him, I'd take care of it now and put my husband on the phone. When my husband started asking him questions, he hung up.

They said I was being investigated for tax evasion. They threatened me saying I was being arrested, detained and prison for 7-8 years. They stated my home, vehicle, bank accounts were being seized.

The man on the phone said I owed $2996 to the IRS for tax fraud and that I would be arrested. When I tried to say I would call him back, he said that I couldnt hang up the phone. He then told the other person that was present he was sending the police.

This was recorded call when I answered the phone call.

The person identified himself as being Agent from IRS regarding a lawsuit that was filed and my name was on it.

Left a message to return call to 877-242-6573.
