They called and said that I haven't paid my taxes since 1995 and that I owed $7,920. They then said that I need to go to the nearest WalMart and buy a $1,000 WalMart giftcard then send it to them. But they wouldn't give me the address and said that they would call again once I had it.

I received a call from an automated machine advising that I was being sued in court by the IRS, and that I needed to call back immediately. They claimed to be from the Internal Revenue Service. When I returned the call they immediately wanted to know my attorney's name and phone number, and that the IRS had already filed suit against me. I advised that I was not going to give them my attorney's name until they told me what the suit was about and what it was for, and the time frame in question. She then hung up the phone. The person claimed her name was Shirley Adams, or at least that was her claim, and she said she was with the IRS. The phone 415-555-5555 This is the same number that sent me the automatic message. Since I do not think the IRS operates this way, I felt it best to report this activity to the NC BBB. She knew my name, but that was likely from caller ID. I am not concerned with the follow-up from BBB, but I wanted you to know this information in case it helps someone else. All the best and thank you for your support.

I repoted this to the ScamPulse.com on the same day the first call received April 4, 2017. The second call Saturday April 8, 2017 (today) voicemail message from # (614) 634-9464 a different number.

The caller, Simon Smith called to inform me that the IRS had sent me numerous notification reference an outstanding balance, according to the IRS I am being audited for 2011-2016 taxes, my taxes had been miscalulated and I owe the IRS $3978.00. According to the caller this amount includes legal and late fees. They went so far as to provide me with a case number. They claim there are only two ways I could handle this, I could report to the federal court house with my attorney to argue the case or by speaking to the Federal IRS Regulator, Richard Webber, IRS ID: IRA9805 and he would assist me with getting the issue resolved. I told them I needed something in writing he proceeded to tell me that I would be arrested and I could expect the police at my door soon.
