Caller has called several times and said I owe back taxes to Internal Revenue Service! I do not owe any back taxes and have always filed my tax returns in timely manner. Caller also said that I was being monitored and will face fines as well as property siezure. Caller ordered me to call 208-684-7449. I did not call but reported to BBB scam tracker instead.

I received a call today from 646-397-2902. I called back the number even though the voicemail sounded suspiciously like bs (that the NY state department with the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me, there is a warrant out for my arrest and I must respond immediately).

When I called I spoke with someone who called himself Officer David Brown - badge #9837. He said they were at 1111 Constitution Ave. in DC. He kept pressing me for my zip code and said I would need to give "other identifying information" to know more about why I was being sued. I kept saying I want more information (he had already said he'd identified me by my phone number and partial part of my name I'd given) this seems like a scam. He kept threatening saying "its not a scam, it's up to you, I don't have all day to stay on the phone," that we could hang up the call and "a sheriff will arrive at your doorstep immediately and arrest you and take you to jail for 72 hours," OR, I could give more information, starting with my zip code, so that he could tell me why I was being sued. I kept pressing for a supervisor who he said "wasn't there," at which point he then hung up on me. Makes me sad that some people fall for this and send money, people not thinking clearly, with dementia, etc., because they weren't even trying that hard to seem legit, it was so obviously a scam in the way he was talking to me, threatening me with imminent arrest, and then wouldn't even tell me in what jurisdiction I would be taken to a court house, if I were supposedly arrested.

I wanted to try and get more information from them to try and report better so this scam can hopefully be shut down. I've never gotten a call from a scam like this, and it pisses me off I did. But what I read after I feel stupid. Apparently they also sometimes record your voice and then use it to still steal your identity in future situations, even if you don't give them any identifying information. So if you get a call from this number, just don't answer, or hang up right away. The IRS doesn't arrest you like they were threatening, even when you do owe millions.

Received a call 1-877-769-6956 ..called back and the man said he was from irs an gave me a case number.then he told me his name and that there was an arrest warrant at the court house in Washington DC . I have to pay 4,800 or the judge will sign the warrant. If I can not pay the whole thing I could pay 200.00 to show that I am innocent. They will send a rep to my house next day to give me the money back an show me where I went wrong on my taxes ...from year 2010 to 2016 .He wanted me to even borrow the money from someone . He said he was tapping my phone so he could hear what was being said . They would use it against me in court.He said that I left lines blank on my taxes an to prove that I did not do it on purpose . Send the 200.00 which I will get back till I could prove that I did not mean to do it.I even told him that I have stage 4 breast cancer an have no money.but I need to get 200.00 to prove that I'm innocent he kept saying that.He said that he knows I have money in my bank an I told him I have no money he did not believe me . I told him I am waiting for next month's disability that's when he said can't I borrow the money and I would get it back the next day to cancel the arrest warrant.
