On May 23, 2021 I contacted MIchael Botchway at [email protected] and discussed our desire to purchase two cavapoos -- Emma and Onyx. Both were supposedly 12 weeks old and ready for adoption. I checked the website tonight and both are still "available" and both still 12 weeks old. We sent a few emails back and forth as they were supposedly determining if we would provide a good home. The next step was for me to send $2,000 for both dogs which covered the $750 cost + $250 per dog for shipping and other expenses. Even though I mentioned I would like to come and pick up the dogs Michael insisted that they be shipped directly to our door step as this traditionally works better for the dogs and is more convenient for us. I should have smelled a rat right then and there, I asked about using a credit card and their preferred method of payment was Zelle; when I told him I would not do that he suggested either Walgreens or CVS to send money. I suggested Walmart to Walmart and he said that would be fine, but send it in two installments of $1,000 each ---- one on Sunday evening (May 23) the next on Monday morning. He said it is much easier to do these transfers when they do not exceed $1,000 and cautioned me not to tell Walmart that I am purchasing puppies. RED FLAG number 2 that I ignored. I sent the $1,000 to Patrick Baker in Texas. The transfer could be picked up at ANY Walmart in the state of Texas when ID is provided by the person collecting. After considering all of this and the fact I was being rushed in order to ensure that we would get at least one dog, I called Michael Monday morning and advised that I was not able to send the second $1,000 until my next check due on June 8th. He was somewhat upset and said that his wife made reservations to send both dogs on Sunday for the Monday shipment. Since I was not sending the additional money until later, he canceled the shipment for 2 dogs and the soonest that Emma could be shipped would be Tuesday, May 25. He strongly encouraged me to delay any shipment until the second $1,000 was sent so that the dogs could be shipped together. I said NO, ship Emma and if all goes well then I will be referring other people to purchase also. On Tuesday (May 25) I received an email from Tomas Wesley, Pets Delivery Specialist, Express Pet Logistics with the following contact info: Tel: 214-814-9972 and email: [email protected] . The "hotmail" address concerned me so I called Tomas to confirm the information about the shipment and delivery. He was very nice and courteous but also sounded nervous saying "Yes sir" "Yes sir" "Yes sir". There was no mention whatsoever of what happened next. At 3:34 pm I received an email from Tomas at Express Pet Logistics saying the puppy was presently in "our pet department in Dallas, TX. All health papers and documents are valid, but the puppy need a safe temperature regulatory crate system. No pet is shipped anymore without an Air Condition regulatory pet travel crate system during this period of the year and due to the safety percussion of the Covid-19 Pandemic." Those are not typos from these --- this is exactly what the document which I am attaching says. "So, we must switch the manual/regular crate provided by the sender to a safer Air-condition Crate. We will bring the manual crate provided by the sender to you as well, but your puppy must fly in an AC approved crate. It shows your responsibility to pay for a refundable AC crate for your puppy to ensure their safety since you are the owner and buyer of the puppy." The second paragraph on page two of this three page document says "Over the past 3 months, all pets are required to fly is a safe Temperature Regulated Crate. Here are some reasons why your Puppy needs a Temperature Regulatory Crate." Again, no typos on my part --- that is what it says. Also, why was the puppy able to fly from El Paso to Dallas without such a crate? More RED FLAGS. NOW TO THE BIG NEWS: (all in caps) WE HAVE TWO TYPES OF CRATE POLICY. CRATE RENTAL/SALES. CHOOSE 1 OPTIONS AND MAKE A PAYMENT AS PER AMOUNT. AC CRATE REFUNDABLE CRATE (COVERED BY INSURANCE & 100% REFUNDABLE): $1580.00 USD PURCHASE OF THE AC CRATE WILL COST YOU (NON-REFUNDABLE) OPTION TO BUY AND OWN FOR LIFE: $2300.00 USD. I refused to pay and immediately texted Michael Botchway and this was his reply via text: "OMG I did know for real I don't want to trouble let me see how to handle this please calm down I'm so sorry about all this." That was the last that I heard from Mr. Botchway and Tomas Wesley. Neither will return emails or answer my phone calls.

I have been looking for a Cavapoo and found this website https://greenhillpaws.com. Contacted them to purchase a cute Cavapoo, Kiki. They said they would ship her on Tuesday, May 4th but changed it to May 5th as there was only 2 stops on Wednesday and better for the dog. Then they sent us information on the wrong dog that they shipped. We contacted them and he said he will contact the airport and fix it. It is part of the scan to pull you in. They said it left El Paso was in Dallas and could not fly out. Then Express Pet Logistic called and said we needed to get an air conditioned crate for $1580 and that it would be reimbursed when we picked up the Cavapoo. That is when we new it was a scam. They kept calling us to get us to send the money. We told them to pay it and we would reimburse them. He gave a sad story and only had $500 and would put that in and to send him $1,000.00. We said no and did not hear back from them.
