Government Agency Imposter: USPS Reports & Reviews (34)

Received a text message. After going to the site, it looked exactly like the real USPS website. There were no obvious grammatical errors, and the links linked back to the real USPS site. After entering my info, it asked for credit card info to redeliver my package. At that point I realized it was a scam and exited. I also attempted to put the tracking number in the real USPS website, and it couldn't be found. The text message read:
U?SPS: We are having trouble delivering your package due to an incorrect address.
Please update your address details within 24 hours, or your package will be returned to the seller.

Received a text message with hyperlink attempting to get my information by claiming they were USPS and gave a false tracking number. I went to USPS website and could not find a package for the tracking number or my name listed.

" USPS

We regret to inform you that your item cannot be shipped due to an incorrect address. pls resubmit your address for verification https://s.id/1stSb "

I did not enter any information in. I checked with USPS and they did not have a package with that tracking number. I assume its a scam to phish for information.

- Lemon Grove, CA, USA

I was contacted via cell phone from what seemed to be an automated message from USPS claiming that a package I was receiving could not be delivered due to an invalid address, and was instructed to verify the address once again. Upon doing so, I was directed to a page detailing that I owed a negligible amount of money for a "redelivery fee." Being as I recently moved & coincidentally did have a very valuable package being shipped to my new address, I quickly input my card information to pay although I was met with an error reading "card not valid" despite the information provided being correct. Upon further inspection of the website & URL, it became clear that I had sent off my bank card information off to anyone but USPS. All of the links in the webpage's header & sidebar are functional and redirect back to the authentic website, making it difficult to tell the difference at first glance. I have not lost any money yet, but fear that my funds & information have fallen into the wrong hands.
