This appears to be a very, very careful scam. my resume was posted on Indeed.com. I was contacted via email by a "company" to proceed with an online interview using Google Hangouts. They appear to use a real company as a front. In their initial contact email they even reference the ScamPulse.com. I set up a Google Hangouts session with "hiring manager" Helene Barnekow ([email protected]). During the online interview I was told that the company is based in Denmark, they are temporarily located in Lowell, Massachusetts and they would be opening a new location in Newark, New Jersey. I was advised that I would work from home until the new site was commissioned on November 20. I was even asked during the interview to go onto their website and carefully review what the company is about before proceeding with the rest of the process. I spent about an hour answering what seemed to be legit interview questions. after the process was completed I was advised that I was an impressive candidate and that she would be submitting my answers to her managers for review and that I should be remain near my device for about 15-20 minutes. After about 20 minutes she came back and advised me I was hired and that they would be emailing me my job offer letter, W-9 forms, etc. by the end of the day. I was then asked if I wanted to be paid by direct deposit or by check. By now I was concerned about being hired without a face to face meeting so I replied that since I had just moved to New Jersey and did not have bank accounts opened yet that I would like to be paid by check. I also asked to verify the exact location of the office in Newark that was being built or opened. I received a response stating Downtown Newark, New Jersey. I asked for further clarification of the actual street address. I have not heard from anyone since. They are VERY careful not to ask for money or info but once I said I wanted a live check vs. direct deposit and pressed for an actual location they vanished. Needless to say...no email with my job offer, W-9, etc. I kept a copy of my Google Hangouts conversation as a record.

I was initially emailed by Fatima : and instructed to add Helene Barkenow on Google Chat. This is for a work at home position until the branch is open in Chicago. I am to check in tomorrow at 8AM. I just want to know if this is a scam or if this is a legitimate company. I couldn't find any information on your scam checker because they are based in Denmark. I do not want to be a part of any check cashing scam. They are to send me a check to purchase a computer and software that I need to train with.

Our hiring team has received, reviewed and approved the resume you sent to us on www.smartrecruiters.com and you have been shortlisted for an online interview because we believe you have the required qualifications to proceed. The positions available are: Phone Representative, Data Entry Representative, Office Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, Sales Associate, Front Desk Clerk and Customer Service/Call Center Representative. Here is a copy of the initial interview. They mention the ScamPulse.com in it... the google chat on google hang out is lengthy but it is still saved in case I need it to show you.

Working hours are from 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday (could be flexible). The starting pay is $23/hr for the positions, we also offer part time work and you are expected to come online through Google Hangouts during working hours.

Following our newest online screening introduced by ScamPulse.com, you are required to set up a Gmail account via www.gmail.com to contact Helene Barnekow; one of the Hiring Managers via Google Hangouts by adding up her profile. Her Google ID is [email protected] which can be used to identify her ASAP for the online interview/briefing and comprehensive job details. If you already have an existing Gmail account, you may proceed with it as well for the online interview.
