I was working on creating a Facebook page for my church when Jeannie Marie Short friended me on Facebook. Her profile says she is an Online Promo Claims Agent at Facebook. I thought she worked for Facebook and could help me with the page. We talked about the church Facebook page and she answered some questions and gave me some advice.

Then she said she was asked to contact me by Mark Zuckerberg and asked if I was familiar with Facebook promo that is going on. I told her no. She asked if I had been notified or informed about the Facebook promo and told me I had won $950,000.00. I told her I was afraid of hoaxes. She assured me it was not a hoax. She then asked me to send $220 via MoneyGram to have my prize delivered. I bought the MoneyGram and sent it to John William Fick, in Kipp, Kansas 67401 and I sent her a picture of the receipt.

I asked about taxes. She said the FedEx delivery had been stopped by the IRS until I sent her the Certificate of IRS clearance, which was going to cost me $1240 more. I told her I wasn't paying any more money that I didn't have. She tried to convince me that this was real by sending me pictures of previous winners. I wouldn't send her any more money.

Then Middleton Thomas tried to friend me. He said he was a Special Agent for the FBI. He said he got notification from Facebook about some winnings I was getting from Facebook. I told him I was on the way to talk to BBB. He said to hold on while he investigated. He came back and said he had verified my winnings. He also sent me a copy of his FBI ID. I told him I was going to the news station because I smelled a rat.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg to help retired, deaf, workers and some Facebook users. $150,000.00. 500.00 fee to receive the money in 24 hours by UPS. Looked up the phone number comes back as a house in Bozeman,MT Wonder how many people have fallen for this.

- Orlando, FL, USA

Facebook Reps would contact me about being a random drawing to receive my winnings and than ask for $150 delivery fee if I can't fly to California to pick up my check and certificate.

- Connellsville, PA, USA

Consumer was contacted by Teresa Pandolfo with "Facebook" saying he won $500,000 in their lottery. He needed to send payments of $350 and $500 through Money Gram to Carolyn Clauss in Orange Park, FL 32065. He sent the payments.

- Hobart, IN, USA

person claimed to be facebook representive said i won a prize of 500 000.oo and i needed to give them a delivery fee .

- Toledo, OH, USA

I friended a friend that looked like someone from highschool. This person said she represented the COO from facebook and that she was contacting me to tell me I won $500,000 from a benefit fund. 5 people total won. I kept a running conversation with this person on my IM page so I cannot forward it, but I still have it. I was to pay $400.00 for fedex to deliver me a package and they needed the money now. When I stated I didn't have the money, then the pressuring started. I was told that I would be involved in money laundering. That a package was at the airport waiting for me to sent my money. I didn't give them any money. I felt threatened and told her so, she became what felt was hostile. I called the Toledo Police, they came out and read the text and filed a report. It was suggested to let you know about it as well.

- Sandy, UT, USA

I called an I was calling Facebook customer service. I talk with David at 4 o'clock. I was having an issue with my Facebook. But it sounds fishy because he kept asking me to buy a software called TeamViewer and also told me I had a worm called Koobface malware. I did say no .

I was contacted by a Facebook friend who stated my name was on a Facebook winners list. Winning $100,000.00 via UPS cash money delivered to my home within 24 hrs. My friend claimed he had received his money but later I found out his Facebook account had been hacked. I was shown a certificate from Facebook & Government Compensation below. This certificate was sent from a Facebook claims representative named Booker Lois Maxwell. I

googled Facebook claim reps and her picture was not there. I was also contacted by a male UPS representative asking if i paid $1000.00 tax & fees so he could delivery cash prize by 10am next day. Please advise if this is a scam. Thank you!

Consumer reported on LiveChat that he received a friend request from a "Kelvin Click" on Facebook. After he accepted the request, he was told he won a large sum of money. He didn't remember what the amount was for. He said that this "Kevin" is very persistent.

I have been received messages from Ashley Nicole Marcee stating that she is with Facebook. She informed me that I am a winner of $600,000 sweepstakes from International Promotional Program of 2016 by the CEO of Facebook. She even provided a picture of the owner's work id. I know it was a scam but did want others to fall for this.

The CEO of Facebook has contacted me twice and said I won 600,000 dollars then they say I have to pay a shipping fee to get my money witch I know better because a lawyer told If won any thing I didn't have to pay any kind of fees to get my winnings. I feel this a scam

- Saint Louis, MO, USA

They're claiming that they work with Facebook and are giving away money - $950,000. They said they'll send the prize through UPS or FedEx, but you have to pay a delivery fee - $560, $470, or $370 - to receive it. I know this is a scam. Her name was Diane Shannon and she states she works for Facebook and they do these random drawings every three years. I want to alert the public of this.

- Florence, KY, USA

I received this private message today December 8, 2015 on my facebook page from a Thomas Joseph . I did email the email address that Thomas gave me to claim my winnings. They are requesting me to pay for the delivery fees for my money to be delivered. Please investigate and let me know if this is a scam.
