Employment Scam Reports & Reviews – Page 85 (1903)

I applied for a job on indeed for a work from home position. I was contacted a few days later by someone named Jessica White who was the head of HR for Hill Place Realty. She wanted to set up a phone interview. After we completed the phone interview a couple days later she emailed me saying that I received the position. I then had to fill out paperwork to be hired and to be paid. For the position I was "hired" for was a real estate assistant. She then had me add her on what'sapp to keep in touch and then the next week I began training. It all seemed normal at first typical things an assistant would need to do. Then she just sent me a message stating what my next task for training would be and it just doesn't sound right. So I did some research and found someone else had reported the same number as a job scam. I didn't lose any money but they were able to get personal information that employers would typically ask for

They email me said I had a salary job that I would make 3500 my first month and then broke that payment down into two week checks of $1750. If I re shipped out the shipped product’s sent to my home address and back off to a carrier. I tried contacting HR and my email got send back do to domain name no found.

I was contacted via email about a job I applied for. I was told to create a Microsoft Teams account to conduct the interview. After the interview I was told that I had gotten the job and i'll be starting at $29/hour. I was very excited, I had been looking for a job for a while. I was then told that the job requires certain equipment & that it would be supplied. They then proceeded to ask for my current address to send what was needed. I received a check in the mail & was told to deposit it into my account & to purchase the needed equipment through a vendor they supplied and the rest of the funds were for me as a sign on bonus. I was unable to proceed after the bank red flagged the check. A hold was put onto my account temporarily & the check was snatched out. I was depending on this job & the sign on bonus to pay my bills . This experience has set me back for I turned down another job offer because I thought I had a well paying job. Im currently still looking for work & now currently behind on bills.

I saw the listing on indeed. I didn’t get directed to a website but was just asked to perform a skills test instead. They first texted me informing me that they wanted to set up an interview. I was asked to download ‘Signal’ as a way of communication. They used the real BT financial groups information to seek more real so that if you double checked the website it all looked the same. I was asked to meet every morning at 8am to discuss the position but was never given an official start date or offer letter. They didn’t ask for social security or banking information but did in fact ask for my address in order to send a check to but my “office supplies” they sent a big sum of money ($10,200). My bank of course had not deposited it all right away and when I stated that our usually “briefings” ended fairly quickly. The next day when I received a small portion of the money they asked me to send some of it to a “vendor” in order to start getting my equipment made and that I’d be making partial payments until I received the whole amount. I asked for company email and they did not have one and claimed to operate via personal email. Of course at this point I was suspicious and emailed the corporation themselves to double check. They informed me that all of what I described was not affiliated with them at all.

Called me and I answered with a yes and okay before I realized what was happening. Said they were from Workday and asked if I could help with something.

This person sent an offer letter for a position. First she sent a link to do a test about the position she were offering. It was in the official website of the company. I guess they hacked it. It was so professional and they were using all the branding so I thought it was real until she made the offer without any interview

He sent me a check for 2k to purchase my equipment for work. And the check came back as returned and I had to pay returned check fee.

I was sent a job offer via text 1/3/2023 and the text stated: Good morning, I am Mr. James Smith from (Thirty Madison. )…Your resume has been reviewed for the position of an Administrative Assistant, Data Entry, IT Project, Management, Clerical Assistant and Customer Service and would like to invite you to an interview and we pay nothing less than $30.50 hourly, Kindly reply 'YES' if you are still interested in more info...Thank you.“ I replied yes and then the conversation moved to Zoom text, which raised an eyebrow for me because I never seen a legitimate company ever do this. I was able to get a screenshot of the bogus convo, and what stood out was they told me I would be getting a check for supplies for work I never done. Then asked who I bank with, which was another red flag. Also employers usually don’t want to talk and chat all day after they provided a congratulations you were qualified and hired response. They almost got me but my brain started working after a while.

They offered me 2400 every month plus 40 dollars bonus for every pack I send out. My job was to receive the packages take pictures of the product in the package print a new shipping label and drop it off at a fedex or ups. They would also send me to post office to pickup package that were already picked up by the owner

Was offered a job position through email. Was sent employment contract, tax documents, and there was legitimate work. After "30 day probationary period" all contacts disappeared and email sent that a paycheck was sent in the mail. I never received that paycheck.

Contacted me via email through an Indeed application for a remote shipping job. Salary at $2400 + bonuses. I figured it was a scam once packages started coming in and seeing that on the USPS site that there is no legitimate reshipping company.

I was supposed deliver packages to FedEx and ups and I dont feel safe no more I think I am being scammed and I have lost time money and my indentity is compromised.
