Employment Scam Reports & Reviews – Page 86 (1903)

Liveops advertising as at home customer service representative position. Applied, received interview acceptance and it turned into ongoing stream of next steps. Paid for a background check then was directed to complete an online enrollment through oforce.com to complete enrollment. Oforce sent a link from [email protected] to set up for payment. (Direct deposit or debit card method) This seemed legit but much too shady to provide all personal information for payroll process. I continue to receive the same computer generated email and text message reminding me to complete the enrollment process.

The scammer called and offered me a job that consist of me receiving merchandise and they would have me log into a dashboard to take pictures and put it back in the box and they will send me the a new label to to put on the box and ship it out for them and I would get paid 30 day later ! I was contacted by an Amber H by text message regarding an open position that I had been chosen for. I was given a list of job opportunities that are currently open for new jobs in the American job market. I was told the company provides all of the equipment for a home office and the training as well. I was told that interviews were going to be conducted online via Zoom or MS Teams. I spoke with a Victor Romero and very quickly learned it was not legitimate. I was told that the were wanting to hire 16 individuals in America for startup. I asked certain questions that I believe they knew that I knew it was a scam and they quit responding back to me. I was able to find out that the individual was located in Atlanta, GA. I did not provide any PII to these individuals as well.

Yesterday, my company started receiving phone calls from people saying they had received a job offer from our company. We have not sent out any job offers. The persons listed on the job offers do not work for our company - Tim Drennan and Paul Mekala. The information provided has our company logo, address, phone numbers, and excerpts from our website. They are doing virtual interviews with the people in contact and exchanging information with the email address: [email protected] and [email protected] They also provided a false NC license number. We are happy to provide any further information

On the morning of 2/6/2023, I received a cold email from a "Julia Baker" of Always Legendary Trucking offering me a position as a "Purchasing Assistant". I corresponded with them over the next three days as I was looking for work. During the correspondence, I was asked to send them a photo of the front of my ID and a selfie of me holding it (both of which had all but my name and expiration date blocked out). After signing their "Application Form" I scheduled a short phone interview with their "call manager", Adiela Rosen, where I was asked about my work experience and given an abbreviated description of the position. Afterward, I was given—and later signed—their "Employment Agreement". I was then prompted to continue the conversation on Telegram, which I later noticed "Julia" had set our messages to auto-delete after 1 week. During my correspondence over Telegram on 2/9/2023, I was told that part of my responsibility was set up an external bank account tied to my personal account and then personally withdraw money placed into that account to later be deposited in at a different bank they would tell me. After reading that, I came to believe this was not a legitimate job offer and rather some form of money laundering scheme. It was at that point I sent them one final email to state I no longer wished to work with them. After coming to this realization I was able to fully appreciate the numerous red flags during the course of my correspondence with this organization, such as: Sending me their "Application Form" and "Job Description" via a Google Drive link, the amateur-esc nature of their documentation (such as the use of clipart on the "Application Form"), their seemingly-active recruiting of unskilled workers with no clear understanding of the systems they were meant to operate with (as indicated on the FAQ of the "Application Form"), the fact I would not be paid until after a one month "Probation Period", the fact I was never given official documentation forms sufficient-enough for them to run an I-9 on me, the aforementioned push to communicate exclusively over Telegram as well as the description of my responsibilities that read as textbook-money laundering tactics.

I have attached a folder of all my written communications with the organization as well as the documents they sent.

Hello

I do have screen shots of all texts and zoom chats that I can send via email. This has been a very difficult time for me as I have been having trouble getting a job. Especially one that is at home and in pay range. I want to prevent this from happening to anyone else!

Contacted me via text message stating they received my application through Better Now. I had applied for the job via LinkedIn, but the website was not called Better Now. Stated he was Norman with Adelphi Medical Staffing, and he would like to talk to me about working in Memphis instead of Knoxville (which I had applied for). He wanted to confirm I had a nurse practitioner license and DOT certification, but he never confirmed the ID numbers. He never interviewed me further. He then asked which days in March I could work. This occurred on a Friday, and on the following Monday, he said via text message he needed my social security number and birthdate.

This company approached me and i have an employment agreement. But on my supposed payday they ghosted me

I’ve been applying for jobs through LinkedIn for a while now, so scams aren’t unusual to me. I got a text this morning from this number (628)277-5956, saying that they’d like to set up an interview for a data entry position. Keep in mind, they never really mention when/what time the interview would be held. Just to click on a link. Not to mention there’s a typo. I saw a few others similar to this. Always double check names and company names to see if they align on LinkedIn, or the company’s website. This one screamed scam to me after how many times it’s happened in the past.

The company reached out to me via email with an offer of a customer service job paying $2500/month. I did work for them for about 2-1/2 weeks when they ghosted me after I asked questions about the information they wanted (detailed list of 12 banks near me with #atms, HQ locations, CEO, etc.) They also had asked me to give them a list of Bitcoin ATM locations near me. They wanted me to open a personal account for money to flow through. The money would be payments from their clients. I believe they may have been wanting to put money in an account to then cash and buy bitcoin. Perhaps a tax scam. Check their website - it is a total scam.

I found a job application for a customer service representative for a call center through Indeed with Core Tax and Financial Advisor on 01/26/2023. They reached out to me the following day to inform me the position has already been taken but they would like to offer me a different and better position of which I would be a personal/admin assistant for Tiffany Jones (the person I received the email from). We exchanged emails a few times and when they asked me to refill their personal job application with my first, last name, DOB and SSN as well as references and referrals, I gave it to them under the guise of them doing a back ground check on me. They told me they'd make a decision by the following Tuesday. When the day came they told me I got the position (all done via email) and asked me to sign off on their forms to accept the contract and also fill out a direct deposit form for the position. Not a single phone call had been made, and by this time I was very skeptical. When I tried to call their company number during business hours it said it was restricted and thus, I couldn't push it through. I emailed Miss Tiffany back inquiring more details and demanding a phone interview, of which she blubbered and gave the bogus excuse of not being able to do so due to calls being recorded and they had too much sensitive information. All the while, she was subtly adamant that I fill out the direct deposit form and resent it to me via email to fill out. She wasn't even concerned about a background check or me signing the contract. She was very much focused on getting my routing and account number for my bank. I backed out of it and kindly told them I was not comfortable working with them as they did not dissuade my misgivings. It was just excuse after excuse. When I did my research on them, I learned the original owner of the Financial LLC was Gregory Lucas and he had been practicing since 2011. Everything was supposedly signed under his name, but the address given seemed to be for a home and not an actual firm or office. Please look into them and shut them down if necessary. I fear they may have gotten away with this for a long while now. There are no reviews of Core Taxes and Financial Advisors LLC anywhere.

Got offered a “reshipping job”. Basically just to get packages shipped to my house and then I would send them out. Hindsight, should’ve known it was weird they didn’t send it out directly, but I thought it was one of the actual jobs I was applied for on Indeed.

+1

he sends me lots of emails and tries to let me help them to re-shipping the package, I am so terrified about what's going on

I got a text saying my application was chosen for an interview. I did the interview over Microsoft teams and was offered the job. $20 an hour for two weeks of training and then $35.10 an hour after. I was then told they would be sending me a check/money order to purchase all software and equipment I will need. That was all I needed to hear and left the conversation

+2

I had submitted a resume on Linkedin.com for any jobs available.

Received a text message stating: "Hello, I'm Eric Stone, I am contacting you regarding your resume approved for the Remote Data Entry / Admin Position; pay is $29 / hr. You are required to contact my employer on Signal. Download the app from your Google Play / App Store or signal.org. Add the HR Manager using his phone number 3132842879, and send him a message regarding the interview process. Your Interview code is INT-AD".

I did this, and spoke to a Mr. Springer (I deleted the app, and don't remember the first name he used). He asked me (via text) a few interview type questions, and then he asked for may email and home address. (Regrettably, I gave them to him). They then sent me an "offer letter", but the whole thing gave me a very bad feeling, so my wife and I looked into it, and found it to be a scam.

+2

I did multiple interviews with this "company" both over video chat and an in person interview. They had me turn down other job offer, then removed their offer for employment (over the phone agreement), after I did so. I think this is a scam company.
