Type of a scam Online Purchase

I placed 2 orders within a short time for some miscellaneous military surplus clothing from a Facebook ad I saw that apparently mimicked a legitimate site -Americana Pipedream ( amnericanapipedream.com ). I received a legitimate looking order confirmation from the company followed shortly by appeared to be a valid package tracking website that I had never seen or heard of before ( https://www.track718.us/en/detail?nums=FD6300016218YQ and https://www.track718.us/en/detail?nums=FD6300021148YQ ). When the first order I placed showed as being delivered on Dec. 20, 2024, but nothing arrived (I was home the entire day), I became a little suspicious. Of course, the 2nd package never showed up either even though the tracking info showed it as delivered on Dec 28. The tracking information was suspicious and didn't align with the way mail is processed in our small, mostly rural town. I contacted the company and they assured me that they would re-ship the items. Of course nothing ever arrived. I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charges and interestingly enough, just a few days later I received 2 emails from [email protected] (1 for each order I had placed) stating that they issued a refund even though I had never asked them to do that. Below is the actual text from one of the emails I received:

Hello, Dean Lemke,

I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you have experienced with your refund.

The purpose of the email is to follow up on your refund. We have processed the refund for you according to your needs.

Your transaction number is F0241124100935349856888665. We have completed the refund for you on 2025-01-03 05:44:02, and the refund will appear in your original payment account.

The actual time it takes for your refund to return to your account depends on a number of factors, including how you paid for the transfer, the currency you paid for, and the time it takes your bank to process the refund.

Please wait patiently. If you have not received your refund, you can contact us at [email protected]. We will check the status of your refund for you.
