Scammer listed a vacation rental property on craigslist. When approached, scammer requested a personal email and phone number, and replied from a new email address. Scammer provided a fake website for a "vacation rental company" in Hilo, HI. However, no such business name is registered anywhere, and the address appears to be fake. Scammer offer an unusually good price, with lower than usual taxes and no resort fees (at a large well-established resort) in Wailea, HI. Scammer offered to send over a contract for the rental. The phone number provided was flagged as a scammer on a scam website the target searched. The name the scammer used was Douglas Johnson, even though the email address started with dlarson.
