I was called by a similar tech support person from "Dish Network" saying that Dish had changed the location of its satellites, and needed to reprogram my Dish server to know the new location, or else my TV would shut off and not work. It seemed very odd. The man asked me how many TV's I had in my home, and I responded, "If you are from Dish Network, then you know how many TVs I have in my home." He said that I needed to confirm the information from my end. He then told me my zip code, and my name. He also told me his "name" was Mike Jordan, and his employee number was MJ0060, and his number was 877-353-0060. He then asked again how many televisions I had. I told him that I would call him back, and looked up his number and found these posts. Thank you for this service. He didn't ever get to the point of asking for money, but it seemed very much like the MicroSoft scam. He had an Indian accent, and it sounded like he was in a room full of callers.

A lady called and said that they were from Dish Tech Support. Wanted $100.00 one time payment for new satelite feed. She told me that i would receive a discount for 24 months and that i would get back my $100.00 in 3 months. She has my information that she read off to me and the credit card that she has is one that i was scamed on before. She read off the first 4 munbers of the cc and wanted me to read the other numbers to her. She gave me a name: Mary Wilson, employee number: M0080 and their tech number 1-877-353-0060. I hung up on her and she called back twice, all 3 numbers were different. This lady has an India accent.
