I'm not going to stop until this place is closed down!
I was invited to a Zoom chat with Metedith Eright regarding a job as a CSR and Administrative Assistant for a company in Australia. That is looking for representatives in the united states.
I entred a Zoom Chat with Meredith Wright with Dawson Group of Companies.
She asked me a list of interview questions. like how my bosses would review my job performance and questions like, how I handle work environment and other interview questions like that. I have a printout of our chat also. Since i'm looking for a job, I answered them as I would any other potential employer.
Surprisingly she told me congratulations that passed I the test. It was awfully easy.
She then proceeded to ask where she should send my check. She explained that the check was going to be for the equipment and the software i'm going to be needing for my home office. And that she would send me a list of materials and software that the check will be allocated too.
Unfortunately, she asked me for my address which i gave her. But I DID NOT give her any of my accounting information.
She proceeded to Zoom me this morning and sent me a check...via EMAIL PDF! That is very odd! And she wants me to PRINT OUT and then later mobile deposit into my checking account.
That sounded like a red flag to me! So I proceeded to ask her, how i'm gonna be reimbursing an over four thousand dollar check! And not only that, I Googled the name that is printed on the check which has nothing to do with Dawson Group of Companies! It is an address that is in Storrs, Connecticut. As well as a name that looked like it was misspelled according to my name search... and I decided it was a fraud.
I've already given her my physical address! And also, she had me sign ( Thursday May 28th) an employment agreement that I emailed back to her. So now i'm scared!

I got the same type of offer by the same company. The rep was Meredith Wright with a New Jersey number. I will list the contact details below. Same type of setup and process as you described. Hopefully we can bring more awareness to this and get them shut down!
