I received a 'too good to be true' email informing me that they found my resume online with the Writers Guide of Alberta and they are offering me a job. Thanks to Mabel for posting her experience. I've contacted the Writers' Guild and asked them to email members about this scam.

I was desperately searching for a job and they had contacted me. They made it seem like they were a legitimate company and were hiring on the spot. I was being naive and thought it was quick like this when it came to at home jobs. No face to face interview was performed. They claimed they could provide me with work materials and would give me a check. They did, but turns out it was a fraudulent check. I was told to give to their vendor 1,000 when I thought the money had gone through. It was not approved yet and they got the money via apple pay. Please be wary of this company if they try to "hire" you.

I cannot find any information on this business, the initial contact, while researching their Facebook page, has check ins in Nigeria.
