I received a call from a man by the name of Kevin ******, a financial advisor with capital core advisors, claiming to inform me that I've been approved for a (SAVE) reduced student loan forgiveness program, and that I'll have to pay $1000 upfront. After my card got declined he said " look here miss.... I just got clearance to approve you for $900 today (11/26/2024) and the rest will be forgiven. "a special offer just for you. " "Mr. ******" had my social security number , my address, my reference/emergency contact therefore yes, I believed him and gave him my credit card number. I Paid half the amount with my Citi credit card and the remaining amount on my red river debit card. I called the federal student loan company and asked them about the situation and they informed me that it is not possible and it is most definitely a scam. I than remembered that I still have Kevin fosters number. I called him back and he answered, I told him i want a full refund and every document emailed to be. I also noticed that he did not talk to me like the student loan rep did. To compare, she stated her name title and stated that we were on a recorded line, he did not. He kept saying that he is not a scammer cause if he was he would not have answered me, I than asked for a supervisor and he said that he is the supervisor. I also looked up the phone number and saw that it is a scam number calling to scam students
