was contacted by cold-texting, pretending to be by mistake presented as young woman from Malaysia. very keen to build friendly text exchange. proposed to visit my country. I declined to build more intimate relation. she talked about becoming rich, and helping others get rich, through crypto investment, and wanting to build financial freedom. then she offered to teach me finance. told me about www.smoothlybi.com. proposed to show me step by step how to invest into a fake cryptocurrency called wsry on this fake exchange platform. pretended this was a confidential opportunity to invest in a currency that was developed for listing onto major markets. Proposed to start small. I started with 100 usd. she allowed me to withdraw small amounts to test it. (initially she pretended to be separate from platform). the returns were very high and constant: 3-5% pct points per day. so I increased investment to several thousand usd. she pretended to go to a conference in Singapore, bringing back promising news that big developers were going to invest massively, supporting growth of wsry that the listing price had doubled from 45 to 90. that it was not yet time to sell but time to increase investment and to hold until 90. she encouraged me to define gradually bigger goals bigger investment goals. unlocked rewards on the fake platform. then at time of selling I could not withdraw my own money, by now 18000 USD. the platform pretended I had to pay personal income tax to some kind of Asia tax authority but that I could not use the investment funds to pay the tax. that I had to pay additional 5000 USD of tax to get my own money back. this got me to understand this was probably a scam. I investigated and discovered this was a well developed scam called pig butchering. that there was no hope of recovering my money I found a scam alert forum where I could discuss it with others. please let people know about this scam. other website used by this scam: www.northstar.top
