My second interview was with a male named Demarcus. When I asked about the role they said that most that information would be covered over training but it was direct marketing and that I would have mentors. Both interviews the individuals stated that they work with large corporations like AT&T and COSTCO. They stated those are two of their largest clients. When I asked more details about employee and client testimonials they stated that they did not have any for the new location. I did look up the business registry and it shows there is an active license, however, it was incorporated 10/08/2024.
When I got a callback and a job offer I had already felt my intuition telling me something is off but I asked the individual who called me if they could provide more clarification on some unanswered questions. I asked if this legitimate because I find light information for them online. Nothing on Glass door, Reddit, BBB, and a new presence with limited activity on their LinkedIn and Instagram account. The individual stated that they provide paid training and I would fill out a W4 and schedules are made weekly. However, still she also said there isn't any testimonials online to review at this time. The license is out of Portland, Oregon, but their is a "office space" they supposedly lease in Eugene in the Mind-Works building.
I thanked them for the offer and stated that I was going to take 24 hours to think it over. This was me researching deeper and also talking to friends/family about the experience and getting their feedback. Everyone had the same vibe I was getting and that it is a SCAM.....
I called back just before I started writing this claim and the number brought me immediately to voicemail with a generic please leave a message after the beep. Furthermore, I called back again 10 minutes later and "Kennedy" the representative I spoke with the day before answered. I told her who I was and she basically didn't remember that we spoke the day before. She started asking me the same questions, how did the interview go?, did they answer all of your questions?, and we would like to offer you the position. I stated no and I have a series of questions that I asked, however, most questions were vague and they started more would be revealed once you came onboard to not reveal anti-trust and trade "secrets". At this point I feel like going investigative journalist on them, so I said I would be interested in coming to their office and talking more in depth about the role and having my further questions answered by the owner/operator.
She didn't say anything about onboarding paperwork that I would need to sign before going in. I wake up today and my inbox has authorization forms like "please review and sign" and has fields open for like SSN etc. I DID NOT provide any of this information. "You may be asked to complete an electronic disclosure and authorization form".
"You are encouraged to carefully read the information provided about your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (if applicable) and about the privacy and security of the information you provide".
In summary, it appears as though this organization is a well thought out SCAM that is operating under a veil of a legitimate business. Please report and investigate all activity and if you need anything further from me please reach out.
