Employment Scam
The check arrived in the mail for $4000. It felt so official—had my name and everything. They instructed me to deposit the check into my account, keep $200 as my payment, and wire the rest to a supplier to purchase office equipment.
I deposited the check, and the funds appeared in my account immediately. It all seemed legit, so I followed the instructions and sent the money. I got a notification from my bank showing the check bouncing after I already transferred the funds.
