White van scam: fake advertise they work for an installation company selling projectors and projector screens for thousands. Convince people they are buying a high end product but they aren’t, and scam targeted at university students.

These two males come out of the car while I am at school grounds and offer me a projector for a certain price. They said they were workers going to UofT to install these projectors. They said instead of receiving 2 projectors to install from their supplier, they got 4. They also explained in detail that if they take back the 2 extra projectors back to work, their boss will take it for himself to sell the extra which was why they were allegedly giving the 2 extra projectors to random strangers for a lower price. The box has a MSRP price that is part of the box print that is priced at around $12,000. In reality, its only a few hundred perhaps. They kept pressing me to pay for it since it was a good deal. To make it more convincing, they said that if I sell the projector online for a greater price, they wanted a cut of the profit. Instead, I could never contact them through the number they gave me. They made it look like they were giving it to strangers and that we could make a profit.
