Beware calls supposedly from Consumer Protection Bureau agent. Will claim you won a huge sweepstakes award and ultimately try to convince you to pay 1% of award to insure the check. WiIll claim to be contracted by Federal Trade Commission. Provides a .com, not .gov, website address. Provides a 202 DC number for "agent," an 877 toll free number for agency, and a 702 Las Vegas number to verify the prize. I got a subsequent call from the latter number congratulating me on my award that hung up when I said I was communicating with the real FTC because of concerns this was a scam attempt.
