I was contacted by this company (Consumer Law Group) and they told me they could alleviate my credit card debt and old medical debt if I could pay an amount each month (I agreed to $200) and they would handle getting these paid off within 18-20 months. I HAVE NOTHING IN WRITING TO THIS EFFECT.. All I have is a phone number and a name. They said to ignore any bills I may still be receiving, as well as reminder e-mails or phone calls and that they would take care of everything. I asked them how they would get paid for their services and I was told that within the $200 I was willing to pay every month, their fee would come out of that. So far this month, I do not see anything happening. The $200 was taken from my account, but I am wondering if this is legit. A friend told me to check this out since a friend of hers got scammed. If this is a scam, I will have my bank withhold any more withdrawals from this firm.

Oscar B is his name, and April is her name. They advertise on Facebook to consolidate your credit card Bill's. They took $600 from me as their first payment, and never did anything. When they tried to take another $400 dollars the next month, I had already changed my account. The Consumer Law Group is supposed to be the name of the company, but when April called me wanting the $400 she called from a land line listed under Mci WorldCom Communications out of Diamond Bar California. I am on Disability and not able to hire a lawyer to get my money back. I dont want anyone else to get scammed.

The whole process is a scam. From the beginning I was assured they were going to help us, which they actually made everything worse than when we started. Then I asked for our money to be refunded, they sent a bad check which made things go from bad to worse as now we have fees for overdrafts due to the reimbursement check bouncing. Now they want our banking information so they can wire funds into the bank but won’t answer phone calls in which I’m still trying to recoup $890 out of the almost $3,000 we paid to fix our financial issues which we ended up having to file bankruptcy anyway. It’s a hellish nightmare we’re dealing with and getting worse!
