I received an email through my university student email stating that this company was working with the university and was I interested in receiving info regarding a part time employment opportunity. I received a total of $2850.00 in personal money orders written on First Financial Credit Union out of Albuquerque NM...without a routing number.

I then traced the address to find that it is a government building/courthouse in Midland TX. My third suspicious activity came when I was texted and told to complete my assignment (mystery shopper at Wal-Mart) by the next day (before funds would have been 100% cleared by my bank. When I told them that my back was looking into the money orders, they texted "Never mind". the name on the "Survey Form" is Peter Cole, Recruitment Coordinator.

Received as a job opportunity. Company sends you $2,850 to be a "secret shopper". You are to deposit the money into your account, wait until it clears. purchase whatever they instruct you to purchase and fill out a survey. Once your bank realizes the checks are bad, they pull it back out of your account. SCAM!

I was sent an email via my school. Added my address and name to a website and was told I would receive details with an assignment. Now I have received a cashiers check via mail for the amount in excess of $2,830.00 asking to deposit into my account and activate services then to purchase gift cards in increments of $500. I’m not sure if this is legit or not but it seems very suspicious.
