A man came to out door dressed in a ComEd shirt and said he needed to see our current electricity bill. He said we may have been overcharged on our last bill and might be due a refund through a payment card. The man was not very presentable or professional in his approach. He asked if we had a bill he could look at so he could determine if we were due a refund. We told him we don't have paper bills. He asked if he could see our information from our online account. We told him we weren't the primary account holder and we didn't pay the bill but a roommate who wasn't present was the one who paid the bill. He said he would come back at a later date.

A pre-recorded message informed me it was a courtesy call from ComEd and I had been over billed and they had a check for the refund and 20% off my next bill. I was then transferred to a customer service representative. The rep asked me for my account number. I asked the rep why he needed such information if he was already aware of my being overbilled. He needed to verify that I was a customer of ComEd. I laughed at him, he mocked me and then we ended the phone call.

Received a call from this number and person said my electricity was being disconnected in 40 minutes because of lack of payment. My bill is on autopay but he couldn't confirm anything about my account. Said he was field rep and that I should call 877-500-5445, That number went to a recording that said "bill payment center" - when person answered, he wanted me to pay my bill. I knew this was a scam. We have a winter storm and so reaching ComEd right now is difficult because of service outages. They are trying to take advantage of people.

A business was called and the accounts payable representative was told that the business was 2 months past due on payments and that their lights were going to be shut off at 2:00 PM. She was instructed by a person named George Louis to go to Walgreens and wire $348.96 to them to prevent the lights from being shut off. She got to Walgreens and had second thoughts and mentioned what was going on the the clerk. The clerk confirmed it was a scam.

Called threatening to shut off our power. I looked at our electric account while on the phone and saw we did not miss a payment. When I told the 'agent' that she hung up on me. I called back and asked how could they be doing this to people. A guy named Jonathan went on at length about how he pays $1200/mo car payment, rent on his big apt is $5800 in Manhattan and he spends $1600/mo on food. Then he offered me a job scamming people with him. I responded that I couldn't live with myself doing stuff like that and encouraged him to make better decisions. He laughed and hung up.

Said we had past due bills due and were en route to shut off electricity if payment wasn't made. They said they needed to do a Same Day Payment via MoneyPak.

Claims our company owed $2720 on our ComEd account. Called from 8005927435 Claims the receptionist name is susan and the general manager is joshua. To me they sound like the same person. He admitted to being a scammer and claims he scammed up to $1500 from someone... Just be aware!
