Calling about a 50% discount that I need to contact them or I will lose it.

- Pittsburgh, PA, USA • Mar 26, 2025

received unsolicited phone message claiming to be Xfinity / Comcast to report my service would soon expire, then proceeded to give me fantastic deal of 36 month contract for combined internet and cable TV for $30 per month. As closer he (Ross - extn 831) said I should pay $540 down for first 18 mos as part of this PROMO that was SPONSORED by Target. I asked why I was not told of this offer March 3 when I contacted Xfinity/Comcast and "Ross" said this was new promo. He was perturbed that I said I would return call in 1-2 hours after speaking with Direct TV offer on table. When I returned call he was NOT available - when they DID answer call (3 of 5 calls were not answered). Then I checked Phone # and knew they were scam.

A company, reportedly Xfinity was offering a new monthly payment plan at a reduced rate if I paid a year in advance. This program was co-sponsored with Target. To pay, $1,200.00 for the year I had to purchase 4-$300 Target gift cards and phone the numbers to Xfinity. When you called Xfinity voice and selection options were given. You had to talk with a service person. Mine was Bruce Williams. I purchased the cards from Meijers south. This all occurred on Wednesday the 12th. Thursday I received this text message in the afternoon. "Xfinity Alert: Your services, promotion and your refund are getting canceled along with a $1000 fine. Call 1(855) 360-3530 to avoid inconvenience." I cancelled the plan immediately before hanging up the phone. I have disputed the transactions with my credit card company, talked with Meijet's and Target about refund options since the "Xfinity" company was not able to get payment from three of the cards. Neither vendor is indicated that they have the ability to refund. I have submitted a report with the FTC this afternoon. I will submit a report with the Springfield Police Department. I do not believe Meijers, Xfinity or Target business were involved but their business names were copied and used.

I called what I thought to be X-finity. Was told they were offering a promotion with target. The first 6 months needed to be pre paid with 3 target gift cards 300. each. They even credited my account 150. The next day they said it didn't go through, I needed to purchase 3 more and they would send me the 900. to cover it. I called Target, they didn't have a promo going on with X-finity

I reported the men claimimg to be from xfinity took a payment that stated it was in London. They contacted me again a little over a month again. The same person, i didn't fall for it again, i contacted xfinity and the BBB. They have reached out again in a text, stating I understand you are disputing the charge, what is the issue. Please pass this on!!!!

Person contacted me on my cell phone claiming to be from xfinity about my account being past due. He knew all of my info asto how much i owed, address etc. He wanted to help get it paid and with the longevity of my being with xfinity, they would reduce to $400 from $533. The actors were Harry and Andrew. Since i was unaware they were scammers, they called again on December 6th for another payment. I then reached out to xfinty directly.

I was on xfinity website shopping for new prices, within the hour I received a phone call stating it was Comcast Xfinity and that today is the final day to keep you 50% discount on your monthly bill, if you fail to contact us, your bill will be adjusted to the full rate. I called and they knew my internet pricing and they tried to get to to agree to a longer contract. I gave my personal information before I recognized I was being scammed,

acting as xfinity representative. want detailed account information, as long as money to get a 50% off promotion

- Fort Wayne, IN, USA • Dec 09, 2024

A soon as I gave card info to pay for Internet service I received a text message for payment of $1.500 off my bank card. When I questioned the guy, he said that's how Xfinity verifies by sending a six digit code. But I remembered that Xfinity sends a confirmation number. That's when I knew that something was not right. When I asked for a supervisor, he would not give me one!

- Roanoke, VA, USA • Dec 04, 2024

Scammer called and said with Xfinity and that they could lower my bill by half for 4 months. Just have to get $620 on Target gift cards.

- Saint Paul, MN, USA • Sep 30, 2024

I called XFINITY to ask why my television wasn’t connecting to WiFi. After speaking with an agent my password was immediately reset. My bill was past due and my autopay method didn’t have the funds. I inquired about ApplePay and was to it wasn’t possible. He then asked for my credit card info. He said it declined twice and two charges for Asia Pacific Intl Colg. He tried assuring me it wasn’t them. I disconnected the call.

Received email. Saying pymt was denied by bank. Bank said they had acct # wrong. I contacted xfinity by phone was put thru to online rep, finally got to a live person, explained the issue, he said he could fix it immediately so i gave my bank account #. I thought all was good with xfinity but got a 2nd email a month later sayin bank rejected. I dug deeper and xfinity has never heard of this co. They have called me several more times as if they represent xfinity, trying to explain themselves. The man I spoke to was named Keven Barker, he is the one who took my bank #. They did withdraw a total of $215. I threatened to sue and file fraud charges, they returned the money. However they should not be allowed to misrepresent themselves as Xfinity Internet

- Morris, IL, USA • Jul 18, 2024

I had a tech support rep call me and tell me my internet was running slow. They accessed my modem remotely then started to send themselves money using the cash app. Once I noticed what was going on I immediately unplugged my modem and took out my computer. Since then they keep sending me links for driving directions I never asked for, after I pay my bill I will get an email asking me to change payment methods, which is entirely fake. Clearly Comcast either has employees stealing information or they are selling it themselves.

The scammer claims to work as a Tech support agent for Xfinity and asked for credit card information to fix the Internet connection. After the connection was in fact fixed, our bank account was drained completely of funds just shortly after. We reported to Xfinity fraud department and they said agents do not ask for credit card information over the phone.

I received a really convincing email from what appeared to be Xfinity.com temporarily suspending our service. I then remembered that I don't do business with Xfinity and I noticed the email was from [email protected] which does not sound legit. Totally a scam.

- New Haven, CT, USA • Jun 12, 2024

I originally Googled "xfinity customer service" and found the phone number that I provided in the form. This person pretended, I realize now, to be an xfinity customer service agent, and he had identifiable information from me (including my 2-step verification number for the xfinity account on file). He pretended to schedule a cancellation for my xfinity service (not verifying whether my new address was part of their network or not), including a "cancellation fee." I asked to use the card on file, as he said my charge would be for the final bill--which I had just paid the prior week--and the cancellation fee. I was very distracted and should have immediately hung up when he said he could not use the card on file and needed a different one. Alas. I provided my card number, including security code and expiration date, and he pretended to confirm with his accounting department that the charge would go through. When we got disconnected, he called me back at the following number: 517-639-1595. When my credit card company flagged the charge as suspicious, I almost hung up on him again, but then he asked me to approve the charge.

This was a fishing call wanting me to call their number to extend a discount. I have never done business with xfinity.

- Elgin, IL, USA

I searched for a customer service number for Xfinity on Google search. I selected the first number that popped up. I called it. There was a strange message while I was on hold. It sounded like it was on fast forward. They answered. He said his name was Jason. I told them I called to update them for my account billing. I verified my information. They also asked for the last 4 of my social security number. Then they asked for a verification code that was sent to my phone. I gave it to him. He then told me that it would cost $79.95 for the change to my account to take effect. I told him I didn't have the money at this time. I then ended the call. I found another phone number for Xfinity customer service. I called to double check to see if this was correct information that I received. I discovered that it was not a verification code but a reset code for my account. The scammer changed my payment method and the email address associated with my account. I spoke with the Xfinity security department. Everything has now been corrected for my account.
