Message received is as follows:
"Hello: this voicemail is from Comcast Xfinity. Your account is no longer under promotional billing. The 50% discount on your monthly bill has been terminated. Please call us back on the number showing on your caller ID to reactivate this offer."
04-12-2035: The person I spoke to said his name was Phil at 813.212.1319. After he explained the promotion because he stated I am a Senior ($45/mo for the next 3-yrs but you will pay nothing the 1st yr by making a payment with two Target gift cards of $270/ea; thereafter, you will receive a Visa gift card in the amt of $50 in two business days) he told me to call 833.341.2349 to provide the promotion code: XSM7442 and the gift card access# & card#.
Then I received a text message from 201-564-5482: "Special Xfinity Promotion!Get a $540 Target gift card. When you sign up with limited-time offer! Call 833-341-2349." Somehow they knew my Xfinity contract was about to expire so was offered a 3-yr special of paying $45/mo but had to pay by Target gift card for 1st year with paying $540. I spoke with an Xfinity representative & they assured me my account was secured & that they would report this scam to their security team. 04-14-2025: I received several calls saying Xfinity has detected a problem with my Target payment; thus, my payment is stuck.
I gave him credit card info to pay $500 due which he attempted to get but my credit card company refused as fraudulent ..I have cancelled credit card
He has called 8+ in a row on both cell phone and land line also leaving messages. Xfinity thinks he got my info from email and suggested changing password.
I have also been targeted with fraud in my checking account which I had to close.
And had just recently renewed my Xfinity plan 2 weeks prior after a billing dispute, so I had initially thought that it was a follow call on my new plan.
Aside from my address and phone number, the scammer did not get any other information from me.
