They called and left a message, "This is Hazel Clay and I am calling you from Citibank with fraud and security department. Its regarding your credit report so I want you to call back at my number as soon as possible." When I called back, they stated that a credit card had been applied for using my personal information from Hawaii and a fraud alert was placed on my account. They named other credit accounts on my credit report and stated that they could help to get this all straightened out. They had all of my information, but I did not give them any new information.

Dear Team,

I am a 65-year-old woman, and I would like to report a scam so that other innocent people, especially senior citizens, do not become victims.

Last Wednesday, I experienced an issue with my bank account and searched online for customer support. I found the phone number 800-340-4278 and mistakenly believed I was speaking with a legitimate support representative. The caller instructed me to go to my bank and asked me to provide my bank account number for verification. Trusting the caller, I shared the requested information.

Shortly afterward, unauthorized transactions were made from my bank account. The caller then falsely claimed that I needed to pay $999 to resolve the issue. Believing the request was legitimate, I paid the amount using my credit card.

Later, my daughter searched the phone number online and discovered that it had been reported as being associated with scam activity. That was when I realized I had been deceived by fraudsters impersonating a trusted support service.

I respectfully request that Citi Bank investigate this incident, flag any related fraudulent activity, and take appropriate action to help prevent other customers from becoming victims. I also request that this report be kept on record and shared with the appropriate fraud prevention authorities if necessary.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope my report helps protect others from similar scams.

Sincerely,

Isabella Hall

I am a 78-year-old woman, and I would like to report a scam to help protect others from becoming victims. Last Wednesday, I had an issue with my bank account and searched Google for a customer support number. I found 888-203-2235, which appeared to be connected with Citi Bank or Avast support, so I believed it was legitimate.

The person who answered instructed me to go to my bank and asked me to provide my bank account number for verification. Trusting them, I shared the information they requested. Shortly afterward, I noticed unauthorized deductions from my account. The scammer then claimed that I needed to pay $999 to resolve the issue and restore my account. Believing they were genuine representatives, I paid the amount using my credit card.

Later, I told my daughter what had happened. She searched the phone number online and discovered it had been reported as being associated with scammers. That is when I realized I had been deceived.

I respectfully request that the FCC investigate this phone number and take appropriate action to help prevent others, especially senior citizens, from becoming victims of similar scams. Thank you for your time and for your efforts to protect consumers.
Sincerely,
Ava Allen

Dear Team,

I am a 78-year-old woman, and I would like to report a scam so that others do not become victims.

Last Wednesday, I had an issue with my Citi Bank account and searched Google for a customer support number. I found 800-340-4278 and believed it was an official Citi Bank or Norton support number. When I called, the representative instructed me to go to my bank and asked for my bank account number, claiming they needed to verify my account. Trusting them, I provided the requested information.

Shortly afterward, I noticed unauthorized deductions from my account. The caller then told me I needed to pay $999 to resolve the issue and restore my account. Believing they were legitimate, I paid the amount using my credit card. Later, my daughter investigated the phone number and discovered it had been associated with scam activity and was not an official support line.

I am submitting this report to help protect other consumers, especially senior citizens, from falling victim to similar scams. I respectfully request that this phone number and the individuals responsible be investigated and appropriate action be taken.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Dear Team ,

I am a 68-year-old woman and would like to report a scam to help protect others from becoming victims. Last Wednesday, I experienced an issue with my Citi Bank account and searched Google for a customer support phone number. I found 878-207-4300 and believed it was an official Citi Bank customer service number.

When I called, the representative instructed me to go to my bank branch and asked for my bank account number, claiming they needed to verify my account and resolve the issue. Trusting them, I provided the requested information. Shortly afterward, I noticed unauthorized deductions from my bank account.

The caller then falsely claimed that my account required an emergency security fix and instructed me to pay $999 using my credit card. Believing I was speaking with a legitimate Citi Bank representative, I made the payment.

Later, I told my daughter what had happened. She searched the phone number online and discovered that it had been reported as a scam number used by individuals impersonating legitimate customer support. I realized that I had been deceived and financially exploited.

I respectfully request that the FCC investigate the phone number 878-207-4300 and take appropriate action against those responsible. I am submitting this complaint in the hope of preventing other innocent people, especially senior citizens, from falling victim to similar scams.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I received a call from someone claiming to be Nadia Madrid allegedly from Citibank stating that a "high risk firearms transaction" was made in New York with a credit card just opened in my name. I'm an educated person and this was very convincing. She allegedly transferred me to the Albany FBI office where Carla Sanchez interviewed me and asked for personal info. I did not give any info other than my name and profession. They pretended to give a case number, etc. She became a little irritated when I asked questions. Then she asked me to download the Signal app 7/10/26, I called FBI and they confirmed it was a scam

I received a call from someone who said their name is David Winston and they were calling to report fraudulent transactions on a credit card account that was opened in my name. The scammer knew my name and phone number and tried to fish for personal information by pretending that they are filing a fraud report in my name. They said they work for Citi Bank and are calling from the headquarters in New York.

This number keeps calling me saying there was a fraudulent charge on my card. I do not have a Citibank account. I called back and it immediately asks you your social- bank account number etc. I talked to someone briefly and tried to tell them I don’t have an account why are you calling and they hung up. If that doesn’t scream scam I don’t know what does.

If you Google the number it says Citibank but you can’t actually get ahold of someone and I’ve never called a bank that asked you your information on a automated system.

Had full name and Ssn name surname and address but got scammer wound up and started name calling. Saying gonna cancel all cards. Had south Dakota number saying calling from south Carolina. Used the name Steve Miller. Claimed he was manager and operator and CEO and wouldn't let me speak to a manager or supervisor. Called 3 times in 5 minutes

Received a call from what seems to be a branch from "Citibank" about fraud concerns on my card. I was a bit suspicious because I only just applied for my card last week and haven't even received it yet. This made me suspicious so I called the bank directly and looked up the status of my card to see if there were any activities.

Long story short, there was none, and if I would not have called my bank directly, someone would have run off with my social security number.

- Highland, MI, USA

Called asking for my credit care number and social security number. Claiming to lower interest rates for "my credit card" even though I don't even know a credit card.

- Cedar Hill, TX, USA

they send you a letter telling you about a enrolled in ACCOUNTCARE. They even have the last 4 number for a account number and a customer reference # account number dose not match any card I have

I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS A SCAM OR NOT A MARINE HOMES IS GIVE ME SOME MONEY OUT OF A LOTTERY WINNIG IN NORTH COROLINA THOR THE CITIBANK IN THE UK A GUY BY THE ANDREW JORGE WORK FOR THE CITIBANK AS A ONLIE ACCOUNT OFFICER (LOCAL/FOREIGN

It is a recorded woman's voice saying she is from Citibank to go to this website to 'review' my account. I do have a Citi Card, but this is not the right phone number or website address and my account is in Good Standing. This is a total scam.

- Astoria, NY, USA

They call claiming they are a branch of Citibank and their automated line asks for a banking account number to "proceed." Pressing 0 multiple times gets you a person who then tries to get your account info. They claim there is suspicious activity on your account and want your account info to verify it. I happen to know that Citibank never asks for account numbers over the phone and they have multiple steps in their verification process. I knew immediately this was a scam.

However, getting missed calls from them daily is very irritating.

They have a big enough network to employ multiple people because up to 5 different people answered the phone each time I called. Raising your voice or having any amount of attitude will bring out their true colors/faces.

Rec'd phone call (message) to my cell (misprouncing but using my name) from a female caller identifying herself as Citibank, asking for return call. Gave me a security code to use.

Called the correct # on the statement and they indicated the# given to me in the phone call was not theirs. # they gave was 1/800/388/2200.Please check this for me as other not so aware of scams people could be fooled by this and actually give out private info.
