The gentleman identified himself as Frank Murphy from a company called Certified Recovery Group in regards to a debt owed to Ace Cash Express. He did not identify himself as a debt collector until 5 to 10 minutes in the call. He had previously left me a voicemail yesterday morning stating there was an application on his desk and wished to discuss; which is the only reason why I entertained of calling him back. He then stated the amount was for $900 but there was a hardship program where I can pay $404 to settle the debt ; broken up into 4 monthly installments. He transferred me to a female stating her name was Julie and she kept pushing the issue for me to put a credit/debit card on file AND confirm the withdraw dates for July 28, August 28, etc. without sending me documentation of the debt. Julie stated that after I put a card on file. She would then send documentation to my email to DocuSign; which I knew better to do. Julie stated the first payment needed to be made within 7 days. And if the first payment wasn't received there will be a lien, judgment, and criminal activity against me. This company or fraudulent company had called my siblings who lives out of state and told them the matter at hand. I have done a reverse lookup of the phone numbers and a google search of the company to verify and it was nothing. I called the OHIO ScamPulse.com and the representative couldn't locate the alleged company either. I also called Ace Cash Express customer service number and according to the representative they have no knowledge of this company.
