Listed old restored car for sale in AutoTrader. Was contacted by someone interested in purchasing the car however, wanted a report from Data Clear Vin first. Was extremely insistent but thought nothing of it as the website provides very detailed information. Went through the steps and then got the report but I realized the email address was simply from a gmail account. Also that the live chat was even available on xmas day should have been my first clue. They also said the report would get to use in 10 mins. Odd. Why isn't it automatic? Anyway within an hour or so, we've cancelled our credit card even tho there's a $40 charge. If that's all we lost over this, we'll consider ourselves lucky.

I am selling my car. They texted me appearing to be a buyer. After numerous texts, wanted me to buy a car report from verified motor. Said to email it to her. Gave me her name Grace Watson and her email address of [email protected]. I said car fax was fine but she said she would pay for the report - $39. Once I hit submit, I did not receive payment confirmation or an email verifying payment. I texted her to tell her I was still waiting on the report. She said it doesn't take long maybe one hour or two. She said try the live chat to tell them of my issues because she never had any issues. I tried the live chat and they asked for the VIN# because they said it must have been entered incorrectly. I provided it again. They could not read. Then they asked for my name, address and email. Which I thought was very strange. So I texted this Grace back and said I am reporting you for Fraud and Spam as well as the company Verified Motor which is Spam. The other number that called me was 612-445-7188
