Mailer received (postcard) stating "You are a finalist in our Viking River Cruise Getaway! Plus First-Class Airfare for 2!" Scratching off "lucky numbers" revealed a match, which supposedly meant that recipient was a "Grand Prize Winner" who should call the number and give the offer code ZC0531 "to receive one of the following gift" (sic): - Viking cruise, Caribbean cruise, Sony TV, or Alaska cruise. A $50 Amazon gift card also was promised on the postcard.

Scammer( name: Dave Wilson) calls my cell number and tells me that I won $5,000,000 and it was no joke. I played his game and allowed him to mail the documents to my email address. He then called back and told me about a fee to pay, tax I think, and I told him "no thanks" if I have to pay up for winning sweepstakes. He asks if I accept and I said 'no" and he hung up.

I have the documents he sent to me.

My son, who has a mental disability and lives alone, received an email that he won a sweepstakes. He then filled out the form that they requested and a check for $1700 was mailed to him. He then cashed the check thinking that it was legitimate. He will not tell me where all of the money went. He told me that he did not mail anything to these people, but I'm very unsure about this. The bank called today and told him that it was not a good check, so he had to come up with $1700 to pay the bank back. The check was from Purefitness, LLC. The bank was JPMorgan Chase Bank of New York City. The routing number is the correct routing number for the bank.

A letter with a 'winning number'. Instructed to scratch off two circles; if numbers matched I would win one of four grand prizes. If I called within 48 hours, I would get a $50 Amazon gift card. The prize was called a 'Viking River Cruise' but that was not given as the company name. Offer code given: PTC0430 The giveaway is splnsored by PTCL (whatever that means) and is not affiliated with any of the Viking or other cruise lines.. A search on the phone number led me to this webpage.

Scammer claimed i had won 4.14 million dollars also a additional check of 450 thousand dollars. I had won this money on a scratch off ticket. Anyone that knows me knows i NEVER buy scratch off tickets..NEVER. I had my mother listen with me when i put it on speaker. All i had to do was buy a " Green dot scratch ticket that i had to buy for 499.00 at any mini mart. I had to do this right away.. The presenters would be here in 1/2 hour to present me with my checks and go with me to my bank to deposit them. When i said i would wait until they came to me then go get the ticket they transfered me to another " agent " to explain this process and how i needed the ticket before they cut the checks to me. No matter how much i told them that i would not get the ticket until they showed up at my door. I knew this was a scam and wanted to get as much info as i could. So i played along to get the state and phone number. They were very persistant with me about getting the ticket i had to purchase for 499.00. That was their main goal. I wanted to report this so people know of this scam.

Initial call came from Melissa Rose (1-804-630-3533) Chester Va. stating that I had won 1.2 million dollars that was currently unclaimed and would revert back to original owner if I didn't claim it within the next 84 hours. I had to call Global United Escro ((1-855-422-3417) and give them special code given to me by Melissa and ask them to reinstate the $1,200,000.00 in my name. This call seemed very unprofessional, it wasn't answered giving the company's name just a "hello". The person I spoke with didn't seem to be very well prepared to answer any of my questions.

The next day I received a call from Chris Dune (703-828-1229) Fairfax Va. with Financial and Force Investigation, crime enforcement. I not sure what he had to do with crime enforcement because once we establish that Melissa called me and that I had reinstated the 1.2 million he told me about the escrow amount I would need to put up ($6000.00) with Global United Escro in order to collect the 1.2 million. At that point I checked on line for Global United Escro and with the ScamPulse.com and told him that the whole thing was a scam and I was not interested. He quickly ended the call.

I was told that I had to pay a registration fee and when I asked why they said in the US you have to pay tax. When I question why it changed from registration fee to tax I was told if I didn't pay they were coming to my house to burn it down.

Portrayed as a survey for AAA with a free gift after completing the survey. The shipping charge was @ $13.43. However my account was charged $73.46. I called my credit card company and they gave me the phone of 855-957-5656. When I called that number I was told I had signed up for a raffle and they would only refund up to 60% of the charge after I threatened to file a complaint with the BBB. This company is not affiliated with AAA and is completely fraudulent in their business practices. I have learned a lesson here that there is NO ONE to be trusted.
