They asked if I work for current company and verify my date of birth.

- Atlanta, GA, USA

I received a call from the above number asking if I could hear them ok, to which I said yes then they asked about a free cruise. I believe this is a scam where the YES is recorded and used later.

- Buford, GA, USA

When answering the phone, the caller did not immediately respond when I said "hello". When I said "hello" again, a female voice, which was clearly an automated message, stated "I am sorry I appear to be having trouble with my headset". After reading about the phone scams happening, I immediately hung up. When you try to call the number back, an automated message states "the survey you were called about appears to have ended".

Person pretended not to be able to hear me and I'm uncertain if I said "Yes". I believe I just said hello a couple times and then hung up when they started their script about a cheap cruise.

- Prescott Valley, AZ, USA

2017-01-30, 7:54 p.m. Received call from (928) 433-4997 with Caller ID showing "Flagstaff AZ." The call was a recording, but the recorded script pretended to be a live person, saying something to the effect of "oh, I dropped my headset" or "sorry; I was having trouble with my headset" and at some point during that initial greeting asked if she could be heard. It was not initially evident that it was a recording; the recorded 'caller' was speaking so quickly that there was no polite opportunity to interrupt and it was about 20 seconds into the call before it was clear that it was a recording. The pitch of the 'caller' was that because I supposedly had purchased their products in the past, I was now eligible for this new fantastic offer, etc., etc. I hung up as soon as I realized it was a recording, but I believe that at the very beginning of the call I was asked if I could hear and I probably answered "yes" before I realized it was not a liver person. I assume that the entire purpose of the call was to get a voice recording of me saying the one word "yes."

- Marietta, GA, USA

Received a phone call from this number, saying I won something then asked if I could hear them.

- Black Creek, WI, USA

I received a call today and the person said, can you hear me? I said yes and they hung up. I had just heard about these calls, but it was so fast that I said yes anyway.

- Atlanta, GA, USA

Contacted my business stating they were with a Georgia Department verifying a change of address and asked if I had settled my business at a new location. Hung up shortly after a 'yes' response.

- Athens, GA, USA

I was asked can you hear me and I said yes after the third time and then the connection became clear. She said they are having trouble with their headset so it sounded like a speaker phone. The lady was well spoken and told me that I stayed at a resort that I never stayed at. I hung up but I fear it is the "Can you hear me" scam.

Can you hear me now? Trying to record you saying yes

headset fumble. Can you hear me now? Uses different local numbers from a possibly spoofed phone.

- Roswell, GA, USA

I heard about this scam on the news last night and today got a call.

Recording...tried to get me to say yes

Received a call from a company saying it was my final notification for my vehicles warranty. It was a robo-call. When I answered Yes (I wanted to talk to a person to tell them to take me off their list), the call hung up. Nothing has happened to any of my accounts, but I'm concerned this is a phishing scam.

Called and said "Hi, I'm John. Can you hear me?" I was caught of guard and responded yes. Right after I responded the the caller switched to an automated recording attempting to sell something.
