Received call from, 559-205-9650 in Visalia, California advising a vehicle warranty is expiring would I like to speak with a Representative. Curious, I said Yes and the call immediately dropped off. I IMMEDIATELY RECALLED A REPORT OF THIS SCAM BUT IT WAS TOO LATE.

Pre recorded to sound like a live agent is speaking to you...says she is having trouble with her headset. She then proceeds to say that she is calling because you have stayed at their resort (never named) and have been awarded an all expenses paid vacation in FL followed by a cruise. She asks if you are willing to answer a few questions before being transferred to a travel agent. Rather than saying yes or no to this, I asked "where did you get my number?" This was met by momentary silence followed with "I'm sorry, I didn't get that." When I repeated my question, the voice said again that she didn't understand, asking if I would answer a few questions for her. I then asked "Am I speaking to a real person or a computer?" The response was something along the lines of "I am a live agent, perhaps we have a bad connection or that I am assisted by autoresponse software." Immediately after that, they hung up.

"Sorry I can't hear you. Can you hear me". I said Yes. Then the same voice said because you stayed at one our resorts recently we wanted to offer you.....I said I'm not interested but the voice kept talking so I knew it was a recorded message. I hung up and checked the phone number. This is a scam. We have not stayed at a resort. I tried to dial the number back to see if I could get the company name and you had to dial a 1 first so I didn't do that.

The person called me and the phone call immediately began with the sounds of a fumbling headset. It may have been the "Can you hear me?" scam but I don't remember if I had replied Yes or not. Then the woman began to tell me how I had won some cruise, vacation, etc. When the woman asked if I was interested, I said "No, please remove me from your list." The woman then responded with a repeated question at which point I realized she was either a robot or scammer so I hung up.

I received a call on Thursday February 2 at 1:39pm EST. It was a female voice with an accent that sounded Asian. She asked if I was a business, I said no. She asked how I was doing, I said "well." Then she hung up.

On Friday February 3 at 1pm EST, I received a call from the same number. This time it was a man, also with an Asian accent. He asked how I was doing. I responded by asking him how he was doing. He answered "good" and then told me he was calling about my Windows computer. I have a Mac. Rather than respond, I hung up. I believe this is related to the phishing scam that tries to get people to say "yes" so they can record it to use to authorize charges on the victims' credit cards.
