Budget Blinds Reports & Reviews (4)

Hello, I am glad that we are writing our story to this website, so before anyone got scammed, can read to our story’s first.
I experienced the same story as the others below. I got email by [email protected] that my resume was approved for an interview. If I would have questions I should email to the assistant of Mr. Charles( head of Human Resources ). I emailed him and he told me the Mr. Charles is ready since that moment to had an interview with me. He added me in zoom with the email of Charles@budgetblindsfromhome and we got the interview without camera on. After he send my answers to the board he told me I got hired and send me an agreement letter to signed electronically. There were described job’s hours and pay rate. Was said that two first weeks for three hours I would be on training being payed $28 per hour and after that I would be paying $30/h. Next day I thought we would be zooming with camera where he was going to describe company and everything. We kept chatting only where he told me if I were ready for training and gave me an assignment to describe most important equipment an office needed. I completed and send him. He told me great job and we gonna talk tomorrow at the same hour 9:00 o’clock. After that I found this website and I realized that was a Scam. I told him I know you are a scam so delete all my information or I will report to the police. One day after they sent me a fake check with fedex.
Please be careful people of this kind of scam.

Make sure you call the real company's actual phone number from google of the office site and ask if you recently got hired.

A person named Trent Franklin randomly texts me saying that they would like to offer me a job, since they like my resume on indeed. His number is 260) 201-5425.
I say yes, and he makes me add a contact named Mark Toto on Zoom. Mark purposefully avoids setting up Zoom meetings. He only wants to chat under contacts. He gives me a copy paste of the job listing for an administrative assistant for Budget Blinds LLC, Irvine, CA. This is a fake listing. He asks if interested, I say yes. He asks if I am available for an interview. I ask for some time to put myself together. He says it is only through chat, so I say yes and take the interview. He feigns that he is asking his supervisors for approval, he congratulates me and says I got the job. There is to be 2 weeks of training of 3 hours each weekday for $18 an hour, then full time is $24 an hour with full benefits. He gives me a fake letter of employment by the company, signed by the "executive vice president of the company," Brent Hallock. (I will later find out that Brent Hallock is an ex-employee for Budget Blinds that no longer works there.) Now that I am hired, they ask for my address, phone number, and bank name. My first day of "training." I get dressed nicely for nothing because Mark does not invite me to a meeting. He only continues through the external chat. He assigns me a homework whose time limit is 2 hours. A very stupid and ridiculous task. Describe all the equipment one finds in an office and write why it is an important piece of equipment for administrative assistants. I write it out. He asks me to turn it in to his fake email: [email protected]. Later I find out this email does not exist. I tell him I sent it to his email. He asks for me to attach it to the chat, as well. In the letter of employment, they said I would be trained 3 hours a day, but he told me to write down only 2. I did not get any training, just a ridiculous assignment. After this, I found this very page with other people who got scammed by the same people. I expressed my concern of this being a scam to him, that this doesn't add up, and if he could provide the company tax ID number to help me to believe this. All he did was write a random number, no explanation. "330535149." That was the end of the conversation. I later called the actual business in Irvine, CA, and they said that their company is real, but the listing is fake and the scamming is fake, that I do not work there. They are using ex-employee's names to try to make their claims legitimate. I even looked up Mark Toto, and it says that he owns a branch of Budget Blinds in another state, so they tried to use his name, too. The real company apologized to me for the scam, even if it is not their fault. They know about this scam, and they have reported it already, but the scammers keep doing this. Please be careful.

I was contacted via email from [email protected], stating my resume was reviewed and to set up an interview follow the following steps. If need a point of contact, contact [email protected]. I downloaded Telegram and had a 'text interview' was sent over an employment contract to sign and was asked to start "training". After completing essay style papers to what I understood and what I know process wise. I started to feel I was helping someone with a degree program. I then asked for a company tax ID number. Which they could not provide. To good to be true... never heard back from '[email protected]' again. Via Telegram or email.

Budget Blinds gave an interview for employment with a employment agreement letter explaining pay, employment, benefits, vacation. Marshall Alex explain that the company would send equipment when ask about the equipment he said the company have a near by vendor to purchase the equipment from. The only way we communicate through email or zoom mostly zoom. I find it strange we only communicate like that. Then send a check through FedEx asking me to deposit and send a pic of the deposit check. The bank told me this was a fake check and a scam. I wanted to report this so this can help other people. I think this is really sad how scammers try to get people like this. This fake company tried to ruin my life and I'm not going to be responsible for no bad check. This is ridiculous, the job posting is from indeed.
