The consumer was asked, "Can you hear me now?"

The caller prompted her to say yes.

- East Troy, WI, USA

They called twice today on my cell phone, and all she said was, "Hello, my name is Alicia and I'm calling about your warranty. Can you hear me ok?" I said, "I can" and she hung up. Then later, I got another, and she said the same thing, and I said, "No" and she kept on talking -- it was a recording, I'm sure, waiting for me to say 'yes'.

I tried calling the number back and got a scratchy, patchy voice -- couldn't make out what they were saying, and then, "The survey has ended. Thank you." and they hung up.

- West Bend, WI, USA

Said our warranty was expired and if I could hear them - female voice. I did say yes but then hung up. Called 3 or 4 times after that but I did not answer.

- Newberg, OR, USA

I answered the phone and a recording said " hello, this is jennifer from the warranty company. Can you hear me ok?" I unfortunately said yes but then hung up realizing what I had done.

- Milwaukee, WI, USA

Received four calls total - two from each phone number on the following dates: 414-716-1275 on 2/1/17 at 12:11 pm and on 2/2/17 at 9:24 am. 414-209-7717 on 2/2/17 at 12:07 pm and 2:50 pm. Each time the caller identified herself as Allison from the Warranty Company and asked if I could hear her ok. Each time I hung up with speaking.

- Carmel, IN, USA

I received a call today from 317-245-6774 saying they were the Warranty Company and it asked me a question that answered YES to and it sounded like it was recording it. I thought it was a live/real person but it was a automated call or recorded call. It then asked if I would like to renew and I responded NO. It sounded like one of those scam calls that I have been hearing about weee they ask Can you hear me and you answer YES and they record it.

- Eastlake, OH, USA

Phone rang and person on other end replied "Hi this Allison from Warranty Service. Can you hear me OK?" Unfortunately, I replied "Yes I can" because she sounded like a real person. She then started saying that my

car warranty had expired and it was then that I hung up. The first call came at 3:36 PM on 1-30-17 and then they called back today at 9:55 AM. I did not answer that call.

- Houston, TX, USA

It was a recorded phone call (sounds like a real person) that asked "can you hear me ok?". Instinctively I answered yes and then she continued to talk about a warranty that had expired and would I like to renew it (all recorded in a woman's voice). I did not continue the call and hung up.
