Scammer's phone503-286-1367 Type of a scamCredit Cards
Caller claimed to be from Verizon, offering lower interest rate on Credit Card, which I do not have. This is an automated message in the beginning, then when you press one, a live agent comes on the line. This agent called himself David. When trying to call the number back, it is a disconnected number. I called Verizon and they stated it was a scam as well. I finally hung up on the scammer when they wouldn't listen to me.

Megan called from "Verizon down on our Main Street". (we have no Verizon on our Main Street) She simply wanted to know if we liked our cell phones. she knew how many we had and what kind. She tried several times to get me to answer a simple yes or no. I hope I didn't! I haven't lost money yet, but it is early as it happened this morning at 11 am.

Every couple of months I get an email from this address claiming to be Verizon Wireless. They give my account number, bill total due, ad the due date- all of which are in accurate. Their end game is to get me to sign up for Auto Pay with a bank account through a link in the email. It's obvious to me that this is a scam preying on Verizon consumers, but I worry that others may fall for it.

This phone number called 3 times in one day. When I finally answered, the phone volume was very low. They said they were calling from Verizon and thought the connection might be bad and asked if I could hear them. I answered yes, then it went silent as though I were on hold or they muted their end of the line. I asked if they could hear me, and the phone crackled, and I hung up.

Person/Recording called at 9:50am on 2/6/2017 stating:
Caller--"Hi this is John from Verizon to talk to you about data coverage/usage, can you hear me?"
My Response--"Nope"
Caller" Well let me speak louder.."
My Response--Hung up.
This call came over on my company cell phone. It did sound like a recording as I heard some strange noise as though it was a recording.

Received call from Verizon . Called Verizon and they verified it was not a call made on their behalf. The phone calls say they are trying to get ahold of me and that I have won some and that I need to send money to receive money.

I received a call from someone impersonating a verizon customer service rep. He said that I was behind on by bill and need to pay $22.50 to prevent having our service disconnected. I asked him if I could go in and he said I would have to pay additional fees up to $150. Told him I would have my wife call him back. She called him and we both were sure it was a scam. We did not pay any money!

Received a call from a very polite gentleman saying our July payment for our Verizon account had been returned. He wanted us to pay that bill plus this months bill immediately or our Verizon service would be shut off within the next 15 minutes. We ask him to send us the returned payment since it hadn't cleared. He said he would send it to us but we had to cover it to keep our service. We started questioning him about who he was....he hung up!!
