Nothing has happened yet but I just received a phone call where the person asked if I was Sandra. I said yes and she hung up. I had heard about this scam to record you saying yes, but we have a house for sale and I thought that was what she was calling about. I don't know what to do.

- Tucson, AZ, USA

The caller is an automated voice that leaves a message saying "your debt has gone unpaid and is now sent to the US government for unpaid....."

This is a repeated call to my work phone (multiple times a day) and I don't have the ability to block the caller on our system.

- Lincoln, NE, USA

When answering the phone, a voice said my name twice. I replied "yes" and the other line hung up.

- Elk Grove, CA, USA

Older, possible elderly female, caller asked is this "xxxx" "xxxxxxx"? I stupidly answered "yes" and they hung up immediately.

I fear I will be charged for something.

This is what was in the text sent to me by the above phone number. Apparently the text came from a number in Florida.

I received a voice mail that said I had to call the above number within 24 hours or the local cops would come and take me into custody. He said there were 4 serious allegations against my name. They told me to call back and discuss the case before legal action was taken against me.

- Cincinnati, OH, USA

Said we had 1 hour to keep our property from being seized. Sounded like a pre recorded message left on our answer machine

- Blytheville, AR, USA

Caller said my name like he knew me and when I said yes , he hung up. I tried to call back but the number stayed busy. Caller ID said call came from Ohio. I have friends there is why I answered.

- Howell, MI, USA

Voice message left on my cell phone that custody by local cops were happening because several serious allegation pressed on your name at this moment... then requested me to call that number back before legal actions against me

- Marana, AZ, USA

I received two texts from the phone numbers listed to verify my Face Book account. I clicked on the link and added my password. The fake phishing website then redirected me to my real Face Book account after I gave them my password. My password was stolen. A few weeks later, someone logged into my Face Book account and started posting several ads to different Face Book communities that allow you to post items for sale. The person posting on my behalf was selling an RV and if anyone was interested, to e-mail my aunt at the e-mail listed in this report. I started to receive multiple messages in reference to the RV. At the time, I didn’t understand what was happening or why people were asking me about an RV. I was accused of e-mail harvesting by some Face Book members. I quickly told them it’s a scam and not to click on the e-mail listed. I didn’t know what e-mail harvesting was until now. After about two hours I was able to change my password and secure my account.

tried to access my email account.

Someone called me at work and asked for me specifically, including my title. This is not uncommon as I receive multiple sales calls a day, but as soon as I said yes, he hung up.

- Middle Village, NY, USA

The robocall left the following message:

"We have just received a notification regarding your tax filings from the headquarters which will get expired in the next 24 working hours and once again expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment. We would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any action."

- Creston, OH, USA

Received a call from Washington DC. Didn't answer it. Let a message that if my attorney or I did not return the call a warrant would be issued. No identifying company.

Didn't answer the unknown number. They left a voice mail that said I would be detained by local cops if I didn't tend to my tax legal issues and that I had four allegations against me. LOL, I know this isn't true. I did NOT call them back, because sometimes they will direct it to another place and you may see a charge on your next phone bill. Just FYI...you will know if you are in legal trouble and it wont be given to you by phone.

- Clinton Township, MI, USA

I received a phone call from a local number. When I answered they said my first name and I replied ‘yes’. Then they said my last name and I said ‘yes’ and then they hung up. I called the number back and the phone doesn’t even ring. So, they now have my voice recorded.

- Highland Park, IL, USA

A man called and stated that he was calling on behalf of my husband who was in a car accident with this man's brothers. They used a generic name. Supposedly, the brothers did not want "my husband" to call the police and took away my husband's phone. It was difficult to understand everything because the caller had an accent. When I said I was going to call the police, he said not to, that my husband was taken to another location, possibly their apartment. I said I would call back if I needed to and hung up.
