"Is this a business?", replaced the "Can you hear me?" Scam phone call. Be careful, I accidentally said "yes" and the phone call was immediately ended. I called back and the line just beeped. Now I'll have to start checking my credit and banking accts.

Someone called from this number with a question that was answered by "yes" and then they asked a crazy question which required a "no". Like have you ever heard of a palitosted. then they hung up. then when we tried to redial it it was no longer in service. We think the person may try credit card fraud in the future.

I do not know- but when someone opens with "is this _____" with no introduction.... I asked "May I help you" but they were very rude and kept trying to get me to respond with a "yes" to the name. I refused to answer and hung up- they called my WORK!!!! I've received numerous calls to my cell from a variety of numbers - robo calls and def. scams (you have an arrest, IRS debt, etc...) and all have been blocked. I don't even leave my name on my answering machine anymore.

I got a call from a number that appeared on my phone as "unknown" and has no number associated with in my call history. I never answer these but for some reason i did. The woman asked for an arlene and then i replied with "i think you have the wrong number". She very scriptedly seemed to say" oh let me check, is this......" and repeated my number. I said yes and almost immediately she hung up. I felt weird about the entire encounter and them hanging up instantly made me feel like it was a setup. I have heard of scams that just try to get you to say yes and then use that later against you saying you opened some account and we have a recording of you doing so.

I believe I just received a robocall. Middle eastern sounding voice said my name, I said "yes" and that was it. The caller ID on my phone didn't pick up the inbound number either.

First words spoken when I picked up were "Hello can you hear me". Definitely a scam, stated I had won something through a registry but didn't even say what I had registered for. Didn't lose money (yet) but you bet I will be checking my statements meticulously.

Person called my 79 yr old father in law, pretending to be his grandson (used first name). He said he was in a DUI accident and needed $1900 sent by check or else he would go to jail. Told him he was too embarrassed to call his parents. Asked for the check to be sent to another person with the same last name as my father in law (but grandson has different last name). My father in law was confused but did believe it was his grandson. Luckily, he told the person to call his parents and the call ended. My father in law then called his daughter to tell them their child may have been in a DUI accident. That is how we found out what happened. Grandchild lives in MD and my father in law is in WI.
