231-220-9531 Muskegan MI on my called ID when I picked up my landline phone. Male voice said my name to which I answered "Yes". He hung up. I called the number to see who it was because I heard about the say Yes scams on the news. A female answered and I said you tricked me and I don't want whatever you are selling. She hung up. I called back again and a recording came on. It said you are on a recorded line about the pain you are having and your insurance may pay. A female then came on the line. I told her you tricked me and I am not interested in whatever you are selling. She said she would take me off the calling list and hung up. I feel sure this was a scam. I reported the call to BBB, FCC and my local sheriff. This just happened November 23, 2018. It is to soon to know what they intend to do with my "Yes" recorded response.

It started with a voice message claiming there was a law suit "under my name" filed by the US government.

Next day a call with just this message

"If you son't return the call you have to face legal consequences"

The voice is a robot.

I will not respond obviously it is a scam but warning others who might call and respond by "yes" to whatever this scammer is trying to enroll them in.

Call received on 10/22/2018 on my cell phone from a Tel number in Lincoln, Ca. I did not answer as I did not recognize the number. Call went to my voicemail but beginning of recorded message was cut off. It was a robocall not a live person. The message threatened legal consequences if I don’t return call ASAP. I don intend to call back.

On October 3, 2018, I received a call from what I thought was a PC support company called Technocare Technology, who I’ve paid $1,599.00 for life-time computer support back in June 2018. Assuming that they were the ones calling, I had forgotten to ask for a security code to confirm who I was talking to. Anyway, they had stated that I was due a refund of $1000 from my original cost of their service and that the amount could be transferred back into my bank account. They said that they needed to remove and then download some new software on my PC. So, I let them gain access to my computer to start working on it while I watched. After keeping me on hold several times, as well as loosing contact and waiting for them to call back quite a few times, they wanted to try and transfer the refund to my bank account on line, which I agreed to; but they claimed they were having problems making the transfer. I had made the original payment through Paypal, who in turn had the payment transferred from my bank account. The PC person on the phone guided me through the process of writing a dispute to Paypal to claim back the $1,599.00 for inadequate software. After which, he told me that I had to send $1,500 granting a $100 discount to complete the refund process. He requested that I send the money with the use of 3 gift cards at $500 each. That’s when I asked why I need to send money to receive a refund and I mentioned not going through with this. That’s when he threatened me with a law suit, which spooked me and so I complied. I purchased the gift cards and read the account and pins numbers to him. After which, he said he had to confirm that the cards were good and would get back to me in about an hour. After about 2 hours of waiting for a call back. I decided for the first time to call him back and realized that the number they used to call me could not be reached.

On Oct 9, 2018 approx. 3:42 p.m. I received a call on my landline from a young lady saying that their records indicate that we may benefit from a medicare benefit and asked me to confirm if I was between the ages of 50 and 65 (I think). I said Yes, then she said excellent and kept talking. As I was trying to interrupt and say that I am not interested in talking any further about it, I could tell at that time that it was a recording, then I got cut off. Only then did I realize that I may have just been a victim of a potential "Yes" scam. be aware, they are getting more creative with their questions, it is no longer just "Can you hear me?"

Never gave a name for their company. Just told me that this was the last day to get their deal (auto warranty). When I asked if I could call back, they went silent, but never ended the call.

- Valparaiso, IN, USA

Constantly called. No message left. I ignored at first, then after a year I answered and hung up after I heard the message. The message stated that my vehicle warranty was ending and they offered me to purchase an extension. The next time I answered, I pressed 2 to be taken off their list. The next time I answered, I pressed one to speak to a person, when she answered she asked what year my vehicle was. I asked her how to be taken off their call list if pressing the number 2 option didn’t work. She hung up. And now here I am making a report. Hope it helps!

- Lakeland, FL, USA

Multiple calls to cell phone daily threatening to pursue me at my work and home, asking for a call back to avoid action against me. I never answered but a voicemail was left at every call. This is ongoing still. I live in WA but have a Florida cell number.

received a call from a local number, caller asked if I could hear her... I unfortunately responded with YES I can hear you and the called hung up

Caller asked if I could hear them, and I responded yes. I also heard a 'tone' that sounded like they were recording me.

This person posted a job vacancy on facebook for an iPhone dispatcher, secretary and in an email response also added a financial officer. When replying to the job through private email outside if fb no one responded until i wrote on the original post on the fb group explaining that I had contacted them days ago after they suggested that i PM them for more information. In my original email I placed a disclaimer that would nit allow for them to use my email address for anything other than the job in question. Inly after I posted that i had emailed them days ago they said they already had responded so I went to my email and found a new email from them written at 3 am. It was a copy and paste of the fb post with one additional job title added. It was written in poor grammar and signed faithfully yours RDowney. No details or complete job description were given nir was a company name or location.
