Called to start electric services and was asked for a $450.00 deposit for electric and gas. He asked the gentleman for his address, email address, credit card information, social security number. Scammer then apparently called both companies while you are on hold and set up accounts but gives a different email address so they will be emailed not you. Evergy customer service says that they then call in a months time to say that the customer has not yet paid the bill and charges additional money, if you don't pay at that time they will call and have your services discontinued because they have access to do so. It is a very sophisticated scam system and this person is a senior veteran that they scammed. I want them, caught, stopped and prosecuted.

I received a text at 1:40am on February 13th stating the following "Saskpower: We just noticed that you did not fully pay your most recent bill. You must pay your remaining balance of $10.58 CAD before February 13th, 2024 or you may lose your electricity. Go to ?? saskpower1payment.com to make your payment. Thank you!"

I've never received a text for Saskpower, and the fact that it was sent around 2am, on the same day that the deadline is makes me think their goal is to get you to click the link when you first wake up and are disorientated.
