I located this website while searching online for “renew passport.” Based on its placement in search results, overall presentation, and language used throughout the site, I reasonably believed I was completing an official U.S. government passport renewal application. The site’s branding and flow strongly implied government affiliation.

The website https://uspassportandvisa.org/ was the first result on Google when I searched for a method to renew my podcast. The website looks fairly legitimate and asks everything you would expect, including your SS#, address and contact information. Only after I paid did I realize that it was charging me for paperwork to submit to the passport office (which is usually free). It is not affiliated with the U.S. passport office. I've now frozen my credit and requested my bank refund me, but no luck so far. Be careful and do not use this website.

This site appeared at the top of a "US Passport Form" google search. It poses as an official government site, uses predatory language like "Make Your Immigration Process Easier with US Passport and Visa," and misleads people into thinking that "submitting" through their site is the same as submitting the final passport application, when the services they offer could be done by anyone for free through the official US government site.

US PASSPORT & VISA.ORG is a scam! They took $85.83 from my account for a simple passport application form. I mistakenly thought this was a legitimate site, but it is not and they have personal information and money!

I was looking to renew my passport and this website first popped up. I filled in all my info (including SSN) since I thought the website was affiliated iwth the government. After submitting payment I realized that they charged $60 for them to fill out the form, which is free to do on the government website. Worried now that they have my credit card and SSN

I was searching to renew my Passport and this website was the first to pop up. I thought it was a legit website since it ended in .org.

While I was filling out the information I thought my payment I made was the payment for my passport renewal. I received an email from them with a form filled out with the instructions. Turns out, the $88 I paid was just for them to email me my filled out form and I still have to pay for the Passport renewal. When I called them, I was told since I already received the form, they could not offer me a refund. When I said I would dispute the change with my credit card, they said they would put the refund through.

I received an email from [email protected] stating they sent the refund request to their manager.
